My 12 year old chihuahua mix is super picky with her food. Any dry food I try she had to have a topper to eat - tried only wet food and then was told it’s not as healthy for my pup by the vet - they recommended this brand to help have a hard food break down the plaque on her teeth - my dog will eat her breakfast and dinner with no topper or additives!!!!! She loves this stuff!

I have a picky Cavalier King Charles spaniel. He is 4 years old and has never eaten all of his kibbles at one time. We switched from Royal Canin two weeks ago. As soon as I put the kibbles in the bowl for the first time, they were immediately gone. He has been eating all his kibbles 2x a day ever since.

Found a winner!

I have been using this shredded blend for my small Jack-chi since Benny turned one year old. He loves it, especially the chicken nugget bits. There was a time recently when the nugget to kibble ratio seemed very sparse, so my Benny got his little attitude about "something is missing from my food"! I had to elevate it with alternatives so he would eat his meals. Now, I am very happy to say, Purina Pro had re-established that ratio so we don't have to hunt for it anymore. Benny is happy, I am Happy! But, that food would not be perfect without the love and care that Chewy takes when shipping the products to its customers. Chewy has been really great about accommodating Benny's eating patterns. Sometimes we auto ship every 6 weeks, and sometimes less than that. Chewy responds immediately, without hesitation, and replenishes the food when Benny needs it. Aside from that, the package of dry kibble and wet canned food is always shipped with care. No crushed bags or cans. Thank you Chewy for listening to your customers!

She Is Eating Dry Food!

I have struggled with my chihuahua and her eating (or lack of eating) for 8 years now. My other dogs have never had an issue with any brand or flavor I have purchased. Every day has been a horrible battle of wills with her. She will starve herself to the point of low blood sugar crashes and even seizures. We have offered dry food, canned food, warmed food up, added water, added yummy things, tried prescription diets, you name it! I just started transitioning this food in with my other dogs dry food and now, LUNA is eating it! Even chases the other animals away from the food dish! Omg!! I have to give this a review because of how grateful I am that finally there is something out there that is whatever my girl was looking for. If anyone is curious about trying it, I say try it. I hope everyone has the same experience that we did! Luna says thank you!

I rescued a 12 lb dog a year ago. She's amazing!! I continued feeding her the grain free dog kibble that the rescue was feeding her and also recommended. I recently learned from my vet though, that the FDA did a study on dog food and they believe many are linked to canine heart disease. The FDA posted a list of many grain free dog food products were not good for their hearts. (You can look it up online...) Mine was on that list. I asked what my vet recommends? He said there are plenty of good ones out there, but he personally recommends Purina Pro Plan! I felt relieved! It is the same dog food I've always fed my Pomeranians!! They love it and so does my newest pup! I bought the type for "small" dogs. The kibble is round and small, but the chunks of dried REAL CHICKEN is the same size as the regular size Purina Pro Plan dog food. The first ingredient is CHICKEN!! I highly recommend Purina products! Great ingredients from a trusted company!!

My two new girls are very picky and are not fond of it. But even worse is that I misread the ingredients, so this was my fault and does not imply any fault for the manufacturer. This recipe is not humane-grade and includes fillers, grains, etc. Like my pups, I, too, and picky and I have been searching for and trying to find a humane-grade, freeze-dried, raw, air-dried, slow-cooked, or otherwise healthy food that my girls will eat. Both are under ten pounds (full-grown). I’ve spent hundreds on trying different foods and enduring the transitions times between current and new recipes, costs, etc. It’s been over nine months and have not found anything, (except some treats which are not made for complete daily nutrition), even searching on Google to find “best healthy foods for small dogs” recommendations and trying all the home delivery recipes and in-store refrigerated foods. I wish someone would create a list of healthy foods based on price, and then offer small “test” quantities, so we don’t have to buy full bags of food each time. I have tried everything from $3 to $30 PER POUND varieties. It’s exhausting. What we won’t do for our dogs and our peace of mind.

After a formula change on their previous brand, my Vet recommend this for my rescue and foster Chihuahuas. I'm a good dog mom. This is their first feeding, so I mixed the old food with the new to prevent them from getting upset tummies. What did they do? They pulled their food out of their bowls (which they have NEVER done before), so they could more easily separate the old from the new. This allowed them to eat the new food, without having to eat the old food. Even though they haven't finished eating everything I just gave them, they want me to give them more. I'm assuming they expect me to make it easier for them this time. None of that forcing them to separate it out first nonsense.....

I’ve been feeding my frenchie this food for over a year, only for him to start having digestive issues and throwing up frequently over the last month or two. I never thought to check his food considering it’s the same diet he’s been on for half his life. One day when I went to feed him, a moth flew out as I opened the lid to his airtight food container. Upon further inspection, I realize that his food is infested with moths and larvae. Reading up on it online, apparently it’s been a common issue with Purina recently, yet there’s been no recall on their part. Please save your pet and your money and go with something else. It’s disappointing that a vet recommended food ends up having such poor quality control. The food that was in the containers was only a couple weeks old and I ended up having to throw out over 15 pounds of it.
