Our kitty, Tuna Breath, virtually inhales this food.

We adopted a senior kitty a few weeks ago. He'd eaten only kibble at the shelter and, when we got him home, he didn't really want to eat for the first day of two. The shelter sent us home with two bags of kibble and one can of wet. Once we gave him wet food, there was no turning back--he started eating about 1/3 can at a time but now, 3 or 4 weeks later, he's eating two ca a day, sometimes three!

We were definitely excited to try the Purina Pro Plan Seafood Favorites Variety Pack Canned Cat Food from Chewy.com. I could barely get one can opened for photographing for my review before I had a bunch of meowing faces basically ready to tackle me! Seriously! Those must be some super powerful noses. So for reviewing and photographing purposes I opened one pouch and put it in the dish. The usual treat hogs were first to get to it and they were not sharing. Once I got the photos I needed I went and opened some other flavors in their huge dish (also known as a crawfish dish here in Louisiana - yes, one of those round trays us Southerners eat our crawfish from has become their treat dish!). Well, they went nuts! From what I have noticed, this treat was a hit and did not cause any ill-effects such as diarrhea or vomiting. I love how easy these were to open with an easy to pull tab pop top and the fact they didn't make a mess. I also like that there is a lot of juice in them along with a lot of nice chunks. Wet foods of this context and texture seem to be a favorite in our household. I have to say, this was certainly a winner with ALL the cats in our home and definitely recommended!

We got a 6 week old long haired Ginger kitty who is the CUTEST THING IVE EVER SEEN. We now have our morning routine where I get him out of bed, he goes potty like a good baby in his litter box, and then he yells at me until I give him his breakfast. He also has learned what time dinner is, because he also yells at me at dinner time for his Purina wet food. For such a tiny guy, he’s got a big voice.

Artificial flavoring

Reading the ingredient label online hides the fact that it contains 'artificial flavoring'. No where online does it list the artificial flavoring as a food ingredient. Only when I recently bragged about this food to another person did I read the can label. I felt dumb but mostly cheated. I would return for money back if I could. Very mad about this

Increase in pricing

My cats will eat this food and i feel that is is nutritionally sound but the price has gotten ridiculous. When i started buy this food about 12 to 18 months ago it was $26 to $28 dollars for a 24 can cast now its $40. I know cost to manufacture these products has gone up but this is absolutely ridiculous! I think this industry is taking advantage of the pet owners willingness to pay about anything to care for there animals so they can make double / triple percentage profit margins. I'm all for making a profit, this is just greed.

Trying Purina Pro Plan Seafood Favorites Canned Food on my quest to find the perfect wet food that 10 cats can agree on. My quest began when my vet suggested I add wet food into the mix to keep cats more hydrated. He listed a number of cat food brands that he felt would meet my kitties lifestyle and nutritional needs. Pro Plan was on the list. So I bought this variety pack to try it out. All cats enjoyed. Tons of sauce. All flavors seemed to appeal to them equally. However, this is a departure from my cats' normal diet. I had been feeding grain free, whole food, limited ingredient before this. Purina Pro Plan Seafood Favorites Canned isn't that. It has gluten, soy, by-products. But the cats are telling me its tasty anyhow so who am I to disagree. In the pictures, Pudge can't even lift his head from the bowl to get his picture taken, the food is just too yummy. Tadpole is digging in too.

Recently, my cat suffered from a very high liver level. After IV fluids, antibiotics, and liver medicine, I was told I needed to find some different food. Whatever I had been feeding my 12 year old male kitty was not good enough. I expiramented with other brands that were higher end, low fat, and no poultry (because that is what I used to feed him and the vet said switch it up). He has always been picky. Fattest, pickiest eater ever. Pro-Purina Seafood Variety is the first brand so far that I have found he likes consistently. There is another brand that is hit or miss, but along with the seafood, he likes another Pro Purina flavor. This is so important to me to find a food that my cat likes and is good for him. Before, he was starting to throw up often, even if he only ate a little bit of food. I got sad when I would open another can and he would turn up his nose yet I know he was still hungry. Thanks for carrying this brand. Kitty is eating healthy and likes these so far. :)

I did rate this a 4 star even though neither my indoor or outdoor (feral) seemed to care much for any of the 4 flavors. Why a 4Stars then? BECAUSE: The ingredients are EXCELLENT and MY CATS are very spoiled by a very rich variety of canned foods. For my 2 cats, it seems to be a trend to dislike ANY of the "Prestige" ( costly) blends. I'm guessing that like humans... "junk food" ( the "filler" kinds) taste better than what's GOOD for...Us. One constant... They reject virtually all brands of the "Pate' " ( mushy) versions. They go for "fillet chunks", and "strips" and "cheesy-sauce" types. Also like people, ...With dry food it's.... Larger style pieces win VS small. ( Think...We humans LOVE the big pieces of chips more than the bottom of the bag "settling bits" right? ) A mutual desire to crunch apart something? Any "premium" brand of dry food made up of tiny pieces is abhorred by felines. In the cans area, I think the cheaper blends must have some added taste factor. ( I love my MSG doped Chinese foods even though it's not supposed to be good for you.) Anyway, even though they eat MAYBE half of the Pro-Plan, that half is good nutrition.

I decided to try this based on customer reviews. My baby is 15 months old so I took her off the ProPlan kitten food. We cannot get to Vet because of pandemic so I took a chance. I’m glad I did. She loves it. She wakes me up every morning to feed her. Thank you ProPlan and thank you Chewy for prompt service.
