Cat likes it, keeps her full longer

I have an 8-year-old spayed female cat who has always struggled with weight issues and has been on PPP weight management food (wet and dry) for the last couple years

I have an 8-year-old spayed female cat who has always struggled with weight issues and has been on PPP weight management food (wet and dry) for the last couple years. We finally got her to a good weight, but the PPP WM wet food has been out of stock of late, so I figured I would give this a shot. She loves this food. It has a few more calories, but seems to keep her full longer. She doesn't gobble her kibble down as quickly, so I've been able to feed her a bit less. She hasn't gained any weight on this and seems pretty pleased, so we're sticking with it.

The only flavor they'll finish

I have three cats of different ages but all are over or very close to being 7+. I have spent countless $$ trying many high-end brands and flavors, sometimes several at once, because one cat will eat this flavor but not that one and vice versa. I'm sure a lot of you understand. My oldest is 18 and in end-stage kidney failure and, out of desperation, I gave her a can of regular Friskies as "junk food" so she'd eat SOMETHING. I had no intention of continuing this due to her condition (and yes, I have tried the RX diets, she won't touch them) but she ate the whole 5.5oz can. So I started searching for something that wouldn't exacerbate her condition, was a little higher end than Friskies, and that my other two eat with her. I found the Purina Pro Plan Prime Plus and gave it a try--the poultry and beef variety pack first. Seemed to be a hit for a few months--they liked the chicken and turkey flavors best--then I noticed more and more food being left over in the bowl regardless of flavor. So I decided to try a fish flavor, even though my youngest is the only one who seems to enjoy fish and that's iffy at best, but...BINGO! All three are devouring their bowls as if it was Friskies. I really would prefer they ate a higher quality food (and I've tried making it myself, no dice), but if this is what gets them even moderate nutrition and keeps their bellies full, then I'll continue to buy it.

Cat and vet both approve

My cat loves the food, and the can is just the right size for a single meal. Her vet looked at what she was eating and said it was an excellent food for my beloved

My cat loves the food, and the can is just the right size for a single meal. Her vet looked at what she was eating and said it was an excellent food for my beloved Lois. BTW, shortly after my Jessica died, I learned about the Seniors for Seniors program at the NYC Animal Control. Since I'm 80, I didn't want to adopt a cat that I would predecease and leave bereft. That's where I met Lois, age 9 (vet's guess). We are very happy together.

Smashed cans

In the last order which just arrived several days ago, at least 1 can was smashed open, others dented. Had to clean up a mess! I need to contact someone about this!

Meren LOVES the Adult7+Prime Plus ProPlan. Particularly anything salmon and also tuna. I discovered that she really needs more fluids because she refuses water so I take a tsp of food and mash it up with about 4 tsp of very warm water, push the food to one side in her shallow bowl and add half of the gravy mixture yo the bowl. She drinks down the liquid first so I know she really needed it. I give her more gravy mix until she doesnt want any more. It is too bad she wont drink water. She has a clean bowl of water every day next to her food but never touches it. Without liquids the BM gets rock hard.

My senior cat, who has some health issues, turned into a picky eater, and barely ate her regular food. She was down to one small can a day, which isn't nearly enough. After trying a number of brands and food forms. I saw this and decided to try it. Purina isn't normally my go-to brand, but my cat is older and needs calories. She's been eating this up every day, two cans, no problem. Normally she doesn't like pate, but the consistency of this one agrees with her. She is now consistently eating two cans a day.

Cat is in her Prime

My cat is 14 years old. She has been loosing weight and looks so thin. I had her checked by the vet and she is perfectly healthy only thin. So she recommended

My cat is 14 years old. She has been loosing weight and looks so thin. I had her checked by the vet and she is perfectly healthy only thin. So she recommended I start her on a cat food for older adult cats. With the reputation of Purina and the ratings/reviews I read about the product I decided to try this canned item. Although my cat has not gained weight, her coat looks so much nicer and she has quit loosing weight. I feel her nutrient requirements are being better fed with this product.

Before this Prime Plus Adult 7+, I was feeding her regular Pro Plan until my vet recommended a change to senior food. When I popped the lid, she sniffed the air and went ballistic - pacing backing and forth and chattering. Once I put down her food, she gobbled it up right away - looking to me for more. She loves it which makes me very happy!

Fussy cat approved

After trying many many brands and flavors of canned cat food for one of our cats who suddenly stopped eating in September 2020, our vet prescribed appetite stimulation medication and recommended I try Pro Plan. She eventually started eating almost anything I put in front of her for a while, but started being a little fussy again. She has continued to accept this one in particular, Purina Pro Plan Prime Plus for older cats. Both cats prefer the seafood varieties, but mostly like the Salmon & Tuna Entree Classic. I wish it had more gravy because she always goes to the gravy first, but she eats this one pretty well.
