This shampoo spray safe for use even for kittens. It is 1005 non-toxic and would not cause an upset stomach if they clean themselves after.

Using the dry shampoo on an as needed basis, only reduces the allergens in cat hair and dander temporarily between applications, correct?

Based off the ingredients, this shampoo does contain added fragrance. Wow. This stuff is amazing. My husband is EXTREMELY allergic to cats (red eyes, rhinorrhea, hives, sneezing)he can’t be around them for even a minute. We recently got a couple of barn kittens and I decided to try this product as well as the live clear food. It’s been a month and as long as I do this rinse every week my husband is able to be around the kittens, even in our house! I thought it might be a fluke so I skipped one day and within 2 nights my husbands allergies were awful. I washed the girls with this foam and within and hour he was fine to be around them. It’s like magic I swear!

Don't use it for a long-haired cat!

This stuff is awful. When it arrived in the box, it had leaked a little bit and the product was sticky. I thought, "Well, maybe it will be different when it's on hair." ... NOPE! I gave my Ragdoll kitten a "dry bath" as instructed and this stuff is awful. It was sticky on my hands when I was running it through his coat and even after brushing. It's been several hours since I cleaned him and he's still sticky! I tried to brush it out and see if it helped separate the clumps and nope... he's still sticky and gross. He smells pretty bad, too. I'm going to have to give him a regular bath. This product is a huge waste of time and waste of money!

Works, with or without feeding the LiveClear diet

I started our kitten on the pro plan live clear food because I have horrendous cat allergies and bringing in a second cat was very negatively impacting my health

I started our kitten on the pro plan live clear food because I have horrendous cat allergies and bringing in a second cat was very negatively impacting my health. She did fantastic on it and it definitely worked, so I decided to get the shampoo to try on our cat that has to be on a wet hairball diet, and can’t eat the liveclear food. She was not impressed with it, but I sure was! For the first time ever, Bernice layed on my chest and I gave her chest scratches and my eyes didn’t start to itch or my nose start to run until twenty minutes in, and it’s usually immediate! And this was with one use! Very happy with this product.

I was skeptical of this shampoo at first, but I'm a believer now. I've always had pretty bad allergies, but I couldn't stop myself from getting a cat. I have my partner brush out our cat, then shampoo her with this, and then brush her again after it dries. He does this once a week and it makes a big difference. It helps if you do it in front of an open window or screen door so that more of the dander goes outside instead of inside. If you can, definitely have someone who isn't allergic do the work here, that way you aren't inhaling allergens yourself. My cat isn't a huge fan of being soaped up and will spend a bunch of time grooming herself when it's all done, but I have noticed a significant difference in how much I'm reacting to her since we started using this.

Okay shampoo wise, best with used with the food.

I use this as the final step to my senior cat’s baths, it’s an attempt to reduce my reaction to her, but more importantly my partner who’s severely allergic. Alone

I use this as the final step to my senior cat’s baths, it’s an attempt to reduce my reaction to her, but more importantly my partner who’s severely allergic. Alone the shampoo is okay on all fronts, it’s very temporary in its effects, it leaves a sticky residue behind along with matted fur the first few days. After that it gets better but you’ll have to live with a less than soft cat. Where this shampoo shines is when it’s used WITH the LiveClear kibble. The kibble works from the inside in reducing allergens and the shampoo helps rid your cat of extra dander, fur, and allergens from the outside. I’ve found that together they make a great team! Also, for people with cats who may not like kibble I highly recommend just adding a little bit in with their wet food and see if they’ll eat it. My cat loves it by itself and even more when their covered in meat and gravy (:

I got the Purina Pro Plan LiveClear Rinse-Free Allergen Reducing Cat Shampoo Spray. First off, it is not a spray, but a foam, that you pump and it comes out as foam. It was easy to pump, had no noticeable smell or fragrance. Bill was good about letting me rub it into his fur, it seemed to loosen some of his extra hairs, and I was able to remove the loose hair with my hand and a towel. I am not sure if it made my allergies any better, but it did remove excess hair and dander, so I think it will make his allergies better. He did not seems to mind it, but I had to do it in sections. Foam, rub in, rub in with hand some more, than rub some more with a towel. It is good as a shampoo and cleaner.
