Garlic, when used in small amounts, can help support the immune system, liver and cardiovascular system prevents blood clots and reduces cholesterol/fat build up in the blood and heart. Also, it aides in the fight against bacterial, viral and fungal infections and increases the rate of killing off parasites and is great for palatability.

Protein

I’ve been feeding my neighbors starving pregnant dog. I talk to my local vet about what I should be feeding her. He recommended Purina Pro Plan & Hills Science Diet both in the puppy formula due to the high protein they contained. I purchased the first which was the Hills Science from the vet. I decided I needed to look around due to the cost & found them both through Chewy. Since I started feeding her the Pro Plan & Hills, she’s had her puppies. I haven’t seen them but she continues to come over to eat. When we first stated feeding her she looked like a Skelton of a dog with a very big belly of pups. Now, she starting to put on weight & is looking better. Thanks Chewy for your reasonable prices.

This is the only food I purchase for the puppies in our rescue care. I have had over 30 pups at a time and all are fed this because they have solid stools with NO colors to distort the "health" of the feces. I know immediately if we have any health issues in a litter by the stools, I can count on this food that well! This food is affordable. Often the pups that come to us have been neglected, full of worms, with skin issues or down right starved... they rebound quickly on this food and their skin and coat look great in short order. I have never had a puppy not love this food. I read a review where a California babe wrote that her dog did not like this food and she could not give her bag of food away... Maybe her pup had tooth issues, or she has been feeding wet food and expects a spoiled youngster to eat a kernel food. Maybe her dog has stomach issues. I have had hundreds of pups eating the Purina ProPlan Puppy food that would gladly have taken that bag of gold! Pictured is RUDY, the only surviving pup from a litter of 15 premature babes. His mom a stray so starved she had no milk. We started to feed her Purina ProPlan PERFORMANCE blend and tube fed Rudy to save his life while she made enough milk to nurse a single pup. She had to rehydrate and put weight on a rack of bones with hide... she was that bad. Little Rudy barely had enough milk to nurse to 4.5 weeks while mom recovered also from Erlichia. He started eating a mash with the ProPlan puppy food at 2.5 weeks of age. Look at him at 5.5 weeks old in that photo... He was just adopted 6/14/15! Thank you Purina!

My experience with this dog food

Snow, my little princess "husky" didn't like it at first, Pro Plan was her only choice of eating. To make her eat it, I put sweet potato on her plate and mix it well with the food. She had become used to eat it, but I don't believe for second that she liked it. I have my reasons of why I bought it, first, because of chewy's reviews "I've read negative reviews, but I thought people were just over reacting," and second, since I am a student the price was so affordable. It has been two months since I switched from NutriSource Large Breed Puppy Chicken & Rice Formula Dry Dog Food to "Pro Plan." This past week, Snow finally gave me the sign that she didn't like this food anymore, she kept her plate almost full for days. Please if anyone faces the same situation as I have now please don't force your dogs to eat something he/she doesn't like. This was my experience with this dog food, please don't feel bad about my experience, maybe your dogs would love this food.

We were using the Purina Puppy Chow Complete for our Dalmatian puppy which worked well for the first few months. However, as she began to approach 6 months, I was starting to see her ribs, even as we upped the amount of food per day. We switched to this higher protein food and almost immediately, you could no longer see her ribs. She’s healthy and strong and her fur is so soft and shiny. We also LOVE that Purina has partnered with the purple leash project to help people and their pets fleeing domestic violence situations. We use Purina cat litter and cat food as well. They are the best. Visit eisley_the_dal on Instagram for more about the purple leash project and other products and services we love.

I’ve tried many different high quality puppy foods to raise my Border Collie puppies. I can’t find another puppy food which grows them as well with very healthy shiny coats and bright clear eyes. The pups really like the food and have well formed stools. I switch between ProPlan’s lamb puppy food and this chicken puppy food to give the pups a little variety. Couldn’t be happier with both of those foods. Also I couldn’t be happier doing business with Chewy! Amazing customer service and incredibly quick shipping with their dog food. Thank you Chewy!! :)

Hi, I'm Bowie, a 4 month old Basenji puppy. I just LOVE my Purina Pro Plan Focus Puppy food. My Mom tried the really pricey stuff and I didn't like it and my poop wasn't so good. So she asked around - breeder, vet, pet stores, neighbors and friends - and this is what was universally recommended and voila! I LOVE the taste and now I have great, well, you know. I'm a happy puppy. And my Mom loved it because it's 34 lbs and hard to get into the car. But this was delivered right to our door with free shipping - what could be better?

Like the product, not the price

I am very happy with proplan. I have recently switched from proplan savor puppy to proplan focus puppy for my litter. The chunks in the savor are too large and scratchy

I am very happy with proplan. I have recently switched from proplan savor puppy to proplan focus puppy for my litter. The chunks in the savor are too large and scratchy for 5-8 week old Doberman pups. Focus pieces are much smaller which doesn’t really make sence because neither are specific to a breed or size pup. I don’t know what happened with pro plans pricing this spring. I was paying 41-42 and now it is 47-48. That is quite a jump. Their pricing is also off, a 6lb bag is 10.00 and an 18lb is 37-39. I could buy 3-6 lbs bags cheaper than one 18lb bag.

MOLD - BE VERY CAUTIOUS

My wife and I bought this for our lab puppy because it's what the vet recommended. The puppy likes so everyone has happy. When we went to refill the food container

My wife and I bought this for our lab puppy because it's what the vet recommended. The puppy likes so everyone has happy. When we went to refill the food container with the leftover food (we bought the 30 lb bag) we found huge amounts of mold in the food. WE ARE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. We are lucky that we haven't had any issues with puppy as we don't know if he ingested any of the mold. We are giving this one more shot and two stars only because the puppy likes the food. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

The rescue organization had him on this food when we adopted him and have kept him on it since. One time we were in a bind and I got a small bag of a reputable dog food brand and it messed up his tummy. Went right back to pro plan and never had any issues. He loves it and I love feeding my dog quality food. At his first vet visit, the vet asked me what food I was feeding him and her response was, great, that's one of the best!!
