My Doberman pup had terrible gas and frequently loose stools since the day I brought her home. She was on Fromm large breed puppy formula. About a month or two ago she started itching really bad, having excessive dandruff, and even developed hives. I thought she had began to develop a chicken allergy so I tried omitting chicken from her diet as much as possible including a change in food. I looked into this brand and formula and decided to give it a try. I will say it does help with her gas and loose stools significantly. As far as the skin issue goes I ended up having to take her to the vet and after some oral and topical treatments her symptoms had subsided. Still not sure what had caused all of this and not sure if the change to this food helped her skin condition, but overall we’re both satisfied. And she LOVES the flavor of this food! She would take forever to eat her previous food but she scarfs this one right down. Although I wish it came in a larger sized bag (she eats a bag in about 3wks), I will continue to purchase.

Something changed with this food

I've been feeding my 15 month old great dane this food since he was around 10 or 12 weeks old. It has been fine for a while, but a couple months ago he had a couple random vomits and when I took him to the vet and did a blood test they found increased pancreatic values but he was otherwise okay. We didn't have a reason to doubt the food yet so we just did a wait and watch. Well this past month, he has been turning his nose up at the food and no longer eating as soon as he is fed. He would need to be coaxed into eating. Yesterday, he ate all of his food at each of his 3 mealtimes. Then he woke up vomiting this morning and vomited several times. I was just talking to my coworker in another state who has been having similar issues with her dog except she is sicker and more frequently. She mentioned what her dog was eating and it is the same food, except not the puppy formula. Very strange coincidence. Too much of a coincidence. Then we started asking around through our various friends and found others whose dogs have not been wanting to eat their food and have been vomiting on and off and they are all eating some version of the PPP sensitive stomach and skin salmon formula. That is too many coincidences for me. So then I did an internet search and found where a bunch of people were talking about this formula causing pancreatitis. A little too similar with my boy. I am done with this food. I feel awful if I have been slowly making my dog sick. Darned if you do and darned if you don't, I guess. Something definitely changed with PPP.

I had my Turkish Kangal puppy on Pro Plan large breed puppy chicken and she had the worst diarrhea! Ran several fecals with my vet, no worms, no parasites, even prescribed medication wouldn't control her diarrhea. My older dogs are on Natural Balance Salmon and Rice and always have great stools so I decided to check out this Salmon formula. I did the 7 day transition and by the time my puppy was on this food 100% her stools were completely normal and I haven’t had a problem again with diarrhea. I’m so glad I tried this formula. Her coat already looks better, she is more active and all around healthier. Highly recommend, even without stomach issues.

So I bought this food for my 20 month old Rottweile female. She has been extremely picky since we purchased her. I spent thousands of dollars on expensive and cheap foods... tried raw diet and home cooked food, both worked really well for some time and then suddenly stomach upset. Hubby was not fond of either method. She liked Purina Moist and Meaty; however, she has developed a skin irritation. She's constantly chewing her paws, licking her skin, etc. So I am in the process of switching her to this food. Just received it today so I'll have to update this post. But so far, she LOVES this food. She did not sniff it and walk away which is a very good sign. She went straight to the bowl and began munching. The kibble are a bit small in size for a large dog but she gobbled it right up! We are satisfied ATM.

My Poodle/Golden/Collie/GSD mix Valkyrie had the worst intermittent diarrhea when I adopted her at 9 weeks old in January, was on Puppy Chow before I got her. I put her on a high quality food (Halo Elevate, which I still use for one of my others), added probiotics, a little pumpkin, and occasionally rice with little to no avail for 3 months. I finally decided to try a different food a few weeks ago, this one, and am SO HAPPY I did! I didn't transition because I ran out of the other food (poor planning on my part) and yet she has had solid, regular poops from day one switching to this! I've never been so happy about poop lol. We will likely rotate flavors of this formula from now on! We also add healthy raw toppers, fish oil, probiotics, and hip and joint supplements and she's soft, healthy skin and coat, perfect poops, energetic, and happy!

We switched off this food simply because it's so expensive for how little you get. But we are back. After almost two months of loose stool between two dogs, we jumped back to this and everything is back to normal. Safe to say we will probably stay on this for as long as we can afford to. Just wish they provided bigger bags.

We switched our puppy to this after a few skin infections had the vet concerned he may have a chicken allergy. He was previously eating ‘Purina ONE Large Breed Puppy, Chicken’. Even though we were almost out of his previous food, so we couldn’t move him to this food as gradually as we probably should have, he had no belly/poopy issues!! He loves this food SO much. Only problem is that the kibble is very small, so there is no chewing involved when he eats... at this point, we soak it with warm water to soften it or take some wet food and mix it in to slow down his meal time. Overall, i highly recommend. Puppy is happy and couldn’t be more excited for meal time ( we even feed the kibble as treats sometimes and he can’t get enough )
