This is the cat food we used to get ALL the time before the mean ole vet (as Miss Watson calls her) put Miss Watson on prescription food. My prescription has run out now and I'm "in between" vets at the moment. Also, I'm "in between" paychecks (that other food is VERY expensive), so we went back to this. The kitties are thrilled. For them, it was like going from a vegetarian diet to real steak again. It's probably not as good for them, but it's better for my pocket book, and I can't get the other stuff until I can get a vet to prescribe it again.

My 13 year old cat had loose stools and was lethargic, but no dangerous symptoms in her poop. I chatted with the Chewy vet, and she recommended a probiotic, and this appeared as a suggestion. I mix it in her wet food. She loves the taste of it, and she now eats all her food! Each day her poop becomes firmer, and she has not been this lively in years. Lily thanks you, Chewy!

This is great cat food. My cats have bright eyes and sleek coats. Having been around animals my whole life (horse, dogs, cats, and wildlife rescue rehab projects), I know when my animals are feeling their best, and my two kitties certainly are. When I took them in for their annuals, the vet asked me what I was feeding them. I asked them if she thought there might be something better. She said honestly that even though she sells different food in her practice, whatever I'm using is obviously working tremendously well. She said she wouldn't change a thing. Both of my cats are able to appropriately maintain their weight on this formula and have been healthy and energetic.

Best Food on the Market

I switched over to the Purina Pro Plan food several years ago after my vet recommended trying it when my cat refused to eat due to an accumulation of bad bacteria

I switched over to the Purina Pro Plan food several years ago after my vet recommended trying it when my cat refused to eat due to an accumulation of bad bacteria in his tummy. We determined that the bad bacteria was a result of either a teeth cleaning he had recently had done at another clinic (they didn’t suction out all the plaque and he swallowed it) or from the boutique wet food I was feeding him at the time. Not only did he eat a 1/8 a cup immediately after I brought him home from the vet, but four years later and he is still very enthusiastic to eat every morning and night! Typically, I order the Salmon and Rice flavor, but I’m never upset to have to order the Chicken and Rice flavor if the former is sold out.

This was a "makeup" order. It sometimes happens in the high speed work of large warehouses and they sent me the wrong item. I called them and explained and they took care of the problem right away. This is only the second time I've had to call (the first time was just to ask a question) and I was blown away both times by the knowledge of the person handing my call and the incredible clarity with which they spoke. They also talked at a reasonable rate for absolute understanding and they didn't appear to be rushed at all. I'll also say that they usually promise 1 to 3 days to get the FREE delivery but I've almost always gotten my order the next (1) day. And, it's easy to find things on their web site AND they actually do carry a lot and they HAVE what they advertise on the web site. Yep... accidents do happen but, man! Chewy really does things right in my book. I'm a picky fellow and not easily impressed but wow... just WOW! And, all you folks in the phone room? Yeah... keep it up. You're absolutely doing things the right way. You and your managers have a lot to be proud of!

I placed a large order for veterinary care food for my cat on a Thursday. Sadly, the very next day we came home to find that our cat had died. I called Chewy to cancel and send the food back. Unfortunately they could not turn it around. The folks at Chewy were so kind and refunded my order and told me I could donate the food to a shelter. I am blown away by their kindness. It really made a difference. They have my business FOREVER.

When we first got our Rottie as a pup the vet recommended This food. After about a year or so she refused to eat it. I switched to another brand and after about 2 years, even with adding wet food, she refused to eat that! I switched back to the Purina and now she’s gobbling it up with nothing added. Also I have never seen her coat so soft and shiny! The difference in her appearance is amazing! I admit my dogs are spoiled, but seeing is believing. If you’re shopping for a new food, this is definitely worth a try!!

I split this kibble with Purina Pro Plan Complete Essential 5oz pate cans. She gets 1/4 can in the morning and again at dinner. I then give her 1/4 cup kibble at night before bed. All based on her weight recommendations on the packaging. She seems to enjoy this combo as she eats it all and has no digestive issues. The 7lb bag of kibble lasts me close to 6 months feeding one cat in this way. I store it in its original bag inside an airtight sealed Gamma pet food storage container for bug prevention and freshness.
