Answer by ChewyMar 06, 2020
These bags are not resealable.

Where is this made and sourced?

Answer by ChewyMay 20, 2020
This food is made in the USA. The vast majority of ingredients used in Purina products made in the U.S. are sourced here in the U.S. Like other food companies, they do source a limited amount of ingredients from other countries. These ingredients are primarily essential nutrients, such as taurine and B vitamins that are not commonly available in the U.S. in the quantities needed and are sourced in China.

13 years ago, my three-year-old cat stopped eating. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis and put on a feeding tube. After about three weeks, the vet told me they’ve done all they could do and I could take him home and keep him comfortable as he still wasn’t eating on his . My friend bought several different kinds of food and we put down hoping he would eat. He went for this pro plan, lamb and rice sensitive stomach and has been eating this for the last 13 years. I swear it saved his life because the vet had given up. At 14 he still has some stomach issues, but he is still eating the pro plan lamb and rice.

Both of my cats started having digestive issues, stopped eating both wet & dry foods, and I went thru pure hell and a lot of $$ trying to figure out what was wrong. One thing I have changed since the ordeal is putting them on this food. (They were previously on a Purina One chicken kibble.) One cat has finally gained a bit of weight and has normal stool, but the other is still on the skinny side with very soft stool. They are free fed this dry food and get wet food 3x a day.

So far so good, I have a very picky Bengal cat. She will be one year old next month and I have dealt with diarrhea since October. I have tried everything, spent a lot of money on tests, tried different foods. You name it I’ve done it. I slowly introduced this food to her, granted she doesn’t get large quantities, but she actually eats it, and I noticed that her stool isnot as runny. That’s not to say that it doesn’t happen on occasion. But nothing compared to what I’ve gone through since October it has been so bad that it would just leak out of her butt. I know that’s a little too much information, but it was bad. She’s only been on it for a couple of weeks, I’m hopeful that she continues to not only like it, but that it actually helps her gut.

All my cats love this item. I try to make sure I buy good food for them. I’d rather spend extra money on good food , instead of on Veterinary bills.. My fur babies range in ages from 2 yrs old all the way up to 15 yrs old. But I doubt anyone would be able to tell just by looking at them, cuz there all energetic due to the food they eat.

My cat is a creature of habit (doesn't like me to sub in new brands or flavors... he enjoys absolute consistency), so we are sort of stuck buying this kibble. As kibbles go, it's kind of midrange with respect to ingredients / health factor. Not top of the line, but not bottom of the barrel. Considering this, it really is aggressively overpriced (pricing increases since COVID have been outrageous across the board). I always feel gouged when I buy a bag, but my fur baby's happiness comes first (and yes, he does purr sometimes when he jumps up to eat this stuff).

Many years ago I had a cat who kept having urinary issues. The very expensive emergency vet he saw told me she had multiple cats and fed them Purina One Lamb and Rice and it seemed to end their urinary problems. I faithfully bought and fed the Purina One Lamb and Rice to many cats over the years and they all liked it and were healthy. Then it became impossible to find. I tried several premium dry foods over the years, but they never took to one the way they did the old Purina One. I have tried several ProPlan formulas and some of them gave them gas. Very, very smelly gas. Nothing like having a cat with gas sitting in your lap to make you suddenly need to vacuum the house. Anyway, one day I searched on Chewy for Lamb and Rice and found that Pro-Plan had this dry food. It's much, much more pricey than the old Lamb and Rice I used to feed them, but my cats really love this. And so far they have stayed healthy and a little too well-fed (we have a few rollie-pollies). I also offer another option for the occasional dissenter in the bunch, but overall, this is the most popular non-prescription dry food I've tried in the last 20 years. I free-feed the dry and they get wet food once a day. This blows a hole in my budget, but I will say that at least they like it. I have bought more food than I care to think about that they simply wouldn't touch, so I gladly pay more for something they actually will eat. Win-win!

I’ve had my cat for over a year now and it has always been a constant battle with him to find something that works for his stomach and picky attitude. He has been fed some of the most expensive canned foods and dry foods and some of the most affordable foods and it has always resulted in vomiting after every meal, explosive diarrhea, and unfortunately a drastic change in weight in a short period of time. He was refusing to eat anymore. I had to force feed or force him to eat high calorie supplements. Was acting very lethargic, depressed, and was getting dehydrated. Keep in mind my cat is only about 3 years old. Vets recommended limited ingredient diets but those didn’t work either. After reading reviews on this food I decided to go ahead and give it a shot as I was getting desperate. This food was a game changer. We are 2 weeks into eating this currently. I also give him Pepcid to help with vomiting per vet advice. Stool for the most part is solid (the most solid I’ve ever seen it since he was adopted). He only pukes maybe once every other day and he eats A TON! He loves this food!!! He is slowly getting more alert again and can tell he put on a little bit of weight. Thank you Purina Pro Plan for saving my cats life!

My lil chubs throws up quite often after eating mainly because she just swallows it asap. Yes we were at vet and she’s healthy but having some anxiety. So l decided to purchase dry food for sensitive stomach to see if it makes any difference. And oh yes it does! It is not her favorite food but she hates to be hungry so she eats it. But she doesn’t throw up not even close to what she does after eating other dry food. This one is very expensive so l bought the different one last month and she started throw up again. So l am back to this one since it works wonderful for my fat roll.

Myy 16 year old cat is finicky and only liked Friskies Shreds. He has been vomiting every night and refuses the Friskies. He suddenly likes dry food (go figure!) so I got him 4 different brands of sensitive stomach dry foods. The only food he eats is the Purina Pro Olan lamb dry food. I took him to the vet and he had blood work done and was gone for 2 nights! He checked 0ut fine and the vet suggested a sensitive stomach food like Hill's. But he prefers the ProPlan lamb. I had 4 different dry foods laid out for him and he went for the ProPlan every time. Fine product! I also love Chewy as they're the cheapest and best pet site online or even in pet stores!

Fussy little Flicka really likes this kibble, especially as a sprinkle on top of her wet food. She had been overgrooming to the point of hairless patches after we, her humans, went on vacation last year. We had arranged for friends to drop by daily and refill her bowls while we boarded her elderly housemate who needed daily medication, so she was all alone for a week except for daily visits from longtime friends. Separation anxiety? Maybe. She's always been a nervous, shy little personality -- our friends only know her as that furry black blur zooming upstairs and under the bed. Anyway. The vet prescribed fluoxetine (kitty prozac) for her anxiety, and we also gradually shifted her over to a sensitive skin diet in case there was also a food sensitivity going on. Now she's no longer overgrooming, and her shiny satiny black coat is as beautiful as it ever was. Between the fluoxetine and the tasty ProPlan, Flicka's a happier, healthier, prettier little kitty.
