Purina has been making pet food for quite some time now, and I feel very confident feeding my dogs Purina One with the approval from my veterinarian. Best of all, both of my dogs are healthy and very happy on this food. I have a Lab/Plott Hound mix and a Chihuahua/Beagle mix and they’re both able to enjoy this food despite their size difference. Both dogs really enjoy the soft, meaty textured bits and it keeps them interested in their kibble. I’ve tried other brands of kibble, and they didn’t like it as well as they do their Purina so I’m sticking with it!

I had to change my dog's food back in September, and she kept turning her nose up at every last thing I would give her. Finally I found Purina one, and the chicken

I had to change my dog's food back in September, and she kept turning her nose up at every last thing I would give her. Finally I found Purina one, and the chicken and duck would've been perfect, but it was out of stock: "we're not sure when or if this item will be back." So I put her on the Turkey one, which she LOVED (finally) but she's never done well on turkey and it was really bad for her stomach. I was losing hope at ever finding her a food that would work with all her stomach problems AND be tasty enough for her. This food randomly came back in stock (apparently it had been out for a long, long time), so I bought it right away. My dog absolutely loves it and her poops are back to being healthy. Good timing too, because she was starting to refuse the food I put her on after the Turkey one was causing problems. Please don't ever discontinue this again, I literally don't know what I'll be able to feed my dog if it ever does get discontinued.

My dog, a standard poodle @ 44 lbs had an increasingly poor appetite, regardless of how many "extras" I added. Went to the Vet and no medical issues. We thought it might be her food. I switched to Purina True Instinct because it has meaty chunks and decent size kibbles, not the small nuggets everyone makes. This food actually smells like chicken and duck. My Poodle is healthy and happy now.

Chicken or Duck

First off im going to say the packaging for this is very sturdy and if the bag were to get wet the food inside would be safe. My second observation about the packaging

First off im going to say the packaging for this is very sturdy and if the bag were to get wet the food inside would be safe. My second observation about the packaging is that there is no way to close it after opening and im concerned that the food would go bad faster this way. Other than that the food is great quality and my dog loves it. He was iffy at first and only ate the chicken morsels out of the door and tossed the duck out of his bowl to the side and I was like whats going on I know I didn't make this mess because he always eats his food lol then I watched him closer and he was sure enough picking the duck out and placing it cautiously to the side and leaving only chicken in his bowl and then he would eat his bowl of food lol he loves the chicken but then I started giving him the duck to eat as treats and now he loves the duck too so win win its loaded with nutrients and vitamins and very good for my boy we both are happy.

What happened to consistency?

I began purchasing the new True Instinct Duck and Chicken High Protein after finding it at our local grocery store as a new item. It was great! The dogs loved

I began purchasing the new True Instinct Duck and Chicken High Protein after finding it at our local grocery store as a new item. It was great! The dogs loved the chicken and duck pieces which were abundant in every scoop. I added the food to our Chewy auto ship. My first bag arrived with the same quality and with abundant morsels of the chicken and duck combined with the kibble. My most recent purchase was extremely disappointing! The bag is mainly all kibble and tiny almost nonexistent chicken and duck morsels. I've read others who fed True Instinct in the past have had the same issue. When the product was new to the market it was full of tasty shredded morsels in the kibble; however after it became popular the manufacturer changed the ingredients and/or consistency of the product. Definitely will not purchase again as now my dogs turn up their noses.

I have three fur babies, two small chiweenies, and a beautiful German Shepherd . All three are picky about their kibble. I have gone through the gambit of the high price foods, raw dehydrated foods, kibbles with bits( bacon and cheese) all of these were accepted the first couple of days and then nobody, not even my vacuum doggy would eat. My hubby got mad and he bought home our first bag of Purina One Chicken flavor. The rest is history. They will eat the beef and salmon, but only if mixed with the chicken. I feed out 7 cups a day, so the bigger the bag, the better!
