Purina Flock Raiser 20% Protein Crumbles Poultry Feed, 50-lb bag

This is one of my flock's go-to feeds, especially for young birds transitioning off of chick crumbles. My flock consists of seventeen chickens and two turkeys, so for the turkeys the robust protein percentage is critical. We also do supplement with freely offered calcium in the form of oyster shell crumble and repurposed eggshells. This feed is well loved by our birds and we've never had a single unusual health problem in the handful of years we've kept backyard poultry. Definitely recommend!

I used this for my chickens - one rooster, six laying hens, and three pullets (4 months). The whole flock loves crumbles and this was no exception. They prefer this to their pellet feed. My rooster Guy Raz enjoyed bringing pieces of this to his girls. I can’t speak to any long term benefits of this because it only lasted a few days. However, it has the same drawbacks as all crumble feed. They make a huge mess with it and therefore there is a lot of waste. We lost a bunch in the sand of their coop. The bag also had a fair amount of dust in it which the chickens obviously don’t eat but artificially inflates the weight based product. Overall it was fine, about typical for a crumble feed. I typically reserve crumbles for young chicks.

Flock raisers is Versatile to feed Different breeds, which is helpful when you also have a lot of young duck and chicken chickens. This grain smells good and is always fresh. I highly recommend it for anyone that is trying to feed both chicken and Geese so you don’t have to buy different bags

I used to buy this regularly from tsc but finding a fresh bag was almost impossible. My hens liked it so I thought I'd give it another try. The 1st bag I recieved was over 7 months old. I called Chewy and a new bag was shipped immediately. Unfortunately, while this one is only 3 months old, the feed is so powdery that its only good for making mash. I will NOT purchase purina chicken feed again.
