What’s the NSC %?

Add the sugars (10%) and dietary starch (5%); this food is NSC 15%. Ideal for sensitive horses, but research suggests that horses with confirmed Metabolic Syndrome should consume less than NSC 15%. As long as your hay is low NSC, it would balance itself out, but fresh pasture is higher in sugar and would require a lower NSC content. Definitely speak with a veterinarian or nutritionist to decide how careful you need to be about starch and sugars.
