What’s the NSC %?

Add the sugars (10%) and dietary starch (5%); this food is NSC 15%. Ideal for sensitive horses, but research suggests that horses with confirmed Metabolic Syndrome should consume less than NSC 15%. As long as your hay is low NSC, it would balance itself out, but fresh pasture is higher in sugar and would require a lower NSC content. Definitely speak with a veterinarian or nutritionist to decide how careful you need to be about starch and sugars.

Purina has truly knocked it out of the park with Enrich. This is an expertly formulated ration balancer that is absolutely superb for horses on a single-forage diet. One of the standout features is its versatility across all life stages, making it a reliable choice for everything from developing youngsters to mature horses. It bridges the nutritional gap perfectly, providing a concentrated source of essential nutrients without the unnecessary calories or starch found in traditional heavy grains. I am currently using this for one of my foals who is growing at an incredible rate—she is on track to finish at 17+ hands. Because of her size and speed of development, my veterinarian was very specific: we have to be extremely careful with her intake. The challenge is providing the high-quality protein and mineral profile necessary for her bone and soft tissue development while ensuring she does not grow "too fast." Enrich fits that bill to a "T." It allows me to provide the precise fortification she requires for such a massive frame without the excess energy that triggers dangerous growth spurts. It has become a non-negotiable part of her daily feeding program, and since she absolutely loves the taste, I never have to worry about her leaving any of her ration behind. It provides the peace of mind that she is getting a balanced diet while maintaining the slow, steady growth rate my vet demands.

This is one of the best balancers you can find! I use it with older horses as well as weanlings and yearlings. The feeding rate is low enough that it’s both economical

This is one of the best balancers you can find! I use it with older horses as well as weanlings and yearlings. The feeding rate is low enough that it’s both economical as well as easy to feed. I have not had any horses refuse it, and yet it doesn’t contain the sugars of some other grains. We use this to supplement our grass hay, and all our horses look great. Purina does their research and has ionophore free mills which makes me feel confident feeding their mixes!

My horse, who is 23, really liked this. My vet said it was a good idea for her as she is on very good pasture but needs some supplements. She’s been on it a month

My horse, who is 23, really liked this. My vet said it was a good idea for her as she is on very good pasture but needs some supplements. She’s been on it a month and already seems to be improving just her general look, like her coat, her eyes and just more pep in her step. She’s an easy keeper but would always get too fat on feed since being on this great pasture. I will definitely be keeping her on this to help her balance out her nutrients without adding any weight. Thank you Purina for making this food!

I have to say that I wasn’t convinced that my horses would eat this ration balancer. I’ve tried a couple of the other brands that are available in my area, and Rio walked away from his feed any time I top dressed it. This one is a winner though! It smells fantastic and the small size pellets blend in perfectly with his Timothy pellets. Rio scarfs it right on down each meal, and I am happy knowing that the gaps in his forage based diet are filled. Thanks, Purina, and thanks Chewy for making it available!

Horses were obese, so diet and exercise were prescribed. Original food was very costly, they were hungry. My grumpy gelding was mean, and the red headed mare oh boy! My knowledgeable neighbor told me about Enrich. I trust him and switched, within 2 days they went from mean to darn it we are on a diet. Back to my loveable horses. They are getting nutrition they need and able to shed some fat pounds. We are all so happy with this Feed.

I’ve been really happy with this ration balancer. It’s a great option for horses that maintain weight easily but still need the right balance of protein, vitamins, and minerals in their diet. Since it’s concentrated, you only have to feed a small amount along with hay or pasture, which makes a bag last a long time. My horses eat it well, and I like that it’s low in starch and sugar and formulated without corn or oats. It’s a simple way to make sure they’re getting the nutrients they need without adding a lot of extra calories. Overall, it’s been a reliable feed that helps keep my horses looking healthy and maintaining good condition.

Enrich is a great product for miniature horses, donkeys and horse who need vitamins and minerals but not the extra calories. JR my quarter horse enjoyed Enrich more than any other ration balancer out there. His farrier felt his hooves have improved, his coat is nice but we don't need to worry about the extra calories he doesn't need.

I’ve tried a few different ration balancers for my herd of horses, with everything from minis to appys to draft crosses. They all eat this one happily and it’s much more nutrient-dense than most senior feeds, so you can feed as little as 1/2-1lb/day and satisfy all their needs (alongside good hay.)
