What is the difference between the Beneful Prepared Meals and the Chopped Blends? They both look the same

Answer by ChewyJul 29, 2021
The Beneful Prepared Meals is a unique food for dogs and made with real food ingredients, actual vegetables, grains and chunks with real meat or poultry that you can see in the product in its clear, re-sealable container. This includes whole peas, diced carrots, grains of rice and barley, leafy pieces of spinach and pasta rings. Unlike traditional wet dog food, which comes in several canned varieties, Beneful Prepared Meals offer dogs a ready-to-enjoy family style meal in a ready-to-serve, clear plastic container. While the Beneful Chopped Blends is finely chopped with a delicate sauce and made with real chicken, beef, turkey, salmon and lamb as first ingredients. It has tender real vegetables, such as sweet potatoes, to provide essential vitamins and minerals.

They allowed me to get a refund while donating the food to a local rescue. I tip my hat to Chewy and their staff! Well done, Chewy!

Very fussy about her food she will eat. This is the fifth brand, so far 18 servings She’s eaten willout a leftover! Then there’s the cup that I can put half in the fridge, serve the other half a little later in the day, now I get to eat lunch too she follows me into the living room. I watch TV eat my lunch, I tell her this is mine. You go get yours. She trots back into the kitchen. So I’m good with this product. Would you quit for a minute you quit?

This has occurred several times, the 12 pack box has been partially crushed in shipping. However, this time the containers were also cracked and the food was spoiled. My dogs love this food but more care in shipping needs to be looked into.

We adopted a sweet little seven year old Pug/Chihuahua from the SPCA three years ago. When we got her, she was quite thin. I was told to get a pricey non-grain dry dog food for her to eat, and was given a small bag of it when we brought her home. Someone forgot to tell our little Honey girl that she liked this dog food. She would let it sit all day long, and finally, late at night when I guess she was half starving, she would eat it. If she got the chance, she would scarf down the cat's dry and wet food instead. I started trying different types of wet and dry dog food. She hated them all, still preferring the cat's food. I have been worried that her eating the cat's food would not be healthy for her. She hasn't gotten sick. What she has gotten, in spite of not eating the various dog foods I have bought for her over the last three years, is fat! I don't want to lose her to a heart attack. The cat food has made her gain so much weight it is awful. Finally in desperation, I decided to try Purina's Beneful chopped blends that comes in a little plastic tub. Oh my goodness! She loves it. The very first time I put it in her dish, instead of sniffing it and walking away, she ate it. I have put the cat's food up on the kitchen island counter, and Honey can no longer reach it to steal it. She has been on the Beneful now for over a week and I give her half a container for breakfast and the other half for her dinner a little later in the evening. I am so thankful she is eating dog food and I no longer have to feel sorry for her when she wouldn't eat it, and end up giving in and letting her eat the cat's canned food. I am hoping the Beneful she eats twice a day now will help her lose some of her extra weight. No treats for her until she slims down to a normal weight for a small dog her size. I would recommend Beneful for any little persnickity dog to eat. If my picky eater loves it, I bet other dogs would too!

Used to regularly buy these. They are good. They have become pricey. We have a Great Pyrenees. We would feed this as a topper to his regular dog feed. Look at the ingredients. Rather simple. Took it upon ourselves to just prepare and create our own dishes for the dog. We find human grade beef or other proteins reduced for quick sale. Use economical ingredients like rice or barley for the starch. Use a low sodium stock for broth or light calorie soup as a stock. Feel that we can prepare homemade dishes for comparable money or even less.

Well, although I’m not sure I can go along with all of the ingredients that is supposed to be in them and it seems like there’s little bit too much sugar.
