However, Chewy's current carrier: OnTrac Ground shamelessly left our package at the end of our driveway near the road where someone could have stolen it. The delivery person didn't care to drive up our driveway to get out and walk to our front door to safely deliver the small box. The driver was either too lazy or in too much of a hurry. A pet's medication is too important to risk getting stolen. I hope Chewy finds a more dependable carrier.

My new dog is allergic to an assortment of really weird things, including something in what seems like every type of hip and joint supplement on the market (which she desperately needs for her hip dysplasia). While I'm doing trials to figure out what's safe to feed her, it takes a course of steroids to get her over the worst reactions quickly. I love my vet, but their prescriptions are SO expensive. I checked on Chewy and can get the same medication for literally 1/8 the cost per pill. As always, the prescription was filled quickly once approved by my vet and arrived in a few business days. They're the exact same pills and work the same. The ones I got have a quick-break line and break in half easily and cleanly. I never hesitate to order prescriptions from Chewy.

Sometimes, pred is the only med that works for a pet's health condition. We've tried cutting back (under the vet's direction), but the cough returns. We're grateful that something as effective and inexpensive as prednisone, in conjunction with other medications, can help control inflammation as effectively as it does. It should never be used indiscriminately and obviously has side effects that should be considered and monitored, but for our 16-year-old dog, it's a blessing.
