Interactive Kitten/Cat Toy - Kitty Loves This Toy

I purchased this toy thinking that my little ragdoll would play with it for a little bit and then tear it apart and I would throw it out, like all her other toys

I purchased this toy thinking that my little ragdoll would play with it for a little bit and then tear it apart and I would throw it out, like all her other toys. But, I was wrong. She couldn't wait to start playing with this toy, even before I put the batteries in, which I prefer. The USB can be a problem with cords, etc. and she likes to pull things off the counter, including a toy which is charging. She can't stop herself from restarting the little ring and trying to catch the butterfly, or grab the little feather. Then she takes her little paw and moves the balls around. She has used it for about 10 minutes and already I can see we are going to need more butterfly's. Don't be concerned by the cost, as I was, because it will be well worth your money.

My cats all really like this toy. I will say that they all couldn't really care less about the butterfly 99% of the time. (I've seen them bat at it occasionally, but it's not the main event.) I do like that you can plug this in rather than futzing with batteries, rechargeable or not. Sometimes it seems like the toy is not sensitive enough; I've seen my cats bat at it sometimes and have it not turned back on. Other times, simply stepping a little too hard in the same room or closing a cabinet loudly will set it off. I will say that the button placement is a little unintuitive/hard to find, I'm always having to look around the base to turn it on. I think it should be right next to the logo, or maybe a different color than the base.

new favorite toy

I got this for my guy Leo's 10th birthday and he LOVES it. He is constantly going back and turning it on himself. I just wish it didn't turn itself off after 4 hours, he doesn't understand why sometimes he can make it go and others he can't. Great that it came with the extra feather. Leo caught it within 24 hours and it needed replacing. The "broken" one was easily fixed with a little gorilla glue to hold the feather back in its base. It's been over a week and he hasn't broken the 2nd one yet.

WONDERFUL TOY!!! TONS TO DO!!

I got this for all of my cats and they absolutely LOVE it!! They don't know where to start, lol. They want the butterfly but then the feather peaks out! They also like to lay on their sides and play with the balls in the track while the butterfly flies in circles around them. I love the butterfly for a few reasons....first, it's very pretty and has lasted MANY "attacks"! I thought it would fall apart immediately but it hasn't. Also, the movement is really super realistic; in fact my son thought a moth was flying around me, lol. When the cats hold it down, the wire does not break nor does the little motor sound under stress in fact it is silent. When they let go it instantly resumes flying. It circles one way then changes rotation and goes the other direction. The feather part is very durable too and again even when they hold the feather out and down the toy is silent and when released resumes immediately . The feather part of the toy has a nice light inside so cats can peek in and see where the feather is. It comes with an extra feather as well. The settings are nice because when it comes on (hold button down until you hear a beep) it has a green light for the feather mode. Hit the button again and you get a blue light for just feather mode. Hit it again and it does a feather/butterfly mode and the last tap puts it into motion detector mode. I think one or more of the other settings also goes into motion detector mode but not as a starting point. Awesome toy! The only improvement could be if it had a way to secure it to the floor. It is smaller than I thought and therefore light enough for some cats to move it. In our house, the older cats leave it in place but I have 3 very hyper young kiddos that move it around. I found it on and upside down once but it didn't affect the toy at all. Highly highly recommend!!!

Things I like...easy to operate. Has an on/off switch. Can use batteries if you don't want to charge unit through USB port. Haven't tried the fluttering butterfly yet. But the whack-a-mole option is keeping our cats entertained, especially the shyer cat. Seems sturdy too. The feather has been grabbed more than once and the toy keeps on working once the cat lets go. The only negative I find is I wish it ran longer than 5 minutes before going into sleep mode. But it does restart once touched.

I had one similar to this, but the feather stopped working. I saw this and knew Ms lucky would like it. Oh yes she did. I did notice the feather doesn’t come out as fast as previous one I had, she loves the butterfly. I use batteries because I don’t have a usb plug for the cord. I like how it has the option to have both feather and butterfly at same time . I also appreciate that you get an extra feather attachment.

I love that you can use batteries or charge it. Hopefully it has good durability because I am sure my cat will make a lot of use of it!

This toy is fantastic! My kitties were getting bored and very needy and asking to play 24/7. I needed something that could entertain them while I work, and this toy is PERFECT. They loved it immediately. It’s the second day and my cat has always figured out how to turn it on by herself. My kitty bats at it and it holds up; not sure how it would fare if a bigger cat went really hard, but she’s a normal size and it can handle her without damage (so far). Only on day two so not sure about longevity, but worth it so far!
