PetSafe Sliding 80 11/16-in Glass Pet Door, White, Small

I purchased the medium size because the listing says it fits dogs up to 40 pounds and up to 14 inches shoulder height. Unfortunately, it’s too short for my 25-pound dog whose shoulders are just under 14 inches. It was very easy to install and the materials seem durable and well made. However, it only fits in the glass sliding door track, not the screen door track, which was another downside for me. Because my medium-sized dog is too tall to comfortably use it and I was hoping to install it in the screen door track, I’ll be returning it.

This door looks solidly built and sits well in the patio frame. It relies on some pretty strong springs that push the upper bracket to hold it in place in the door track. Apparently these springs push too hard, since they have pushed through some internal framework to drop down and remove any pressure that holds the insert in place. Our first door fell apart within a month. Chewy very graciously replaced it; the second door has lasted six months before falling apart.

The door works well BUT there are serious drafts. It may depend on your patio door. However, there are multiple points with the patio door and the pet door that are difficult, if not impossible, to stop drafts. I plan to use it spring to fall, but it will have to be removed for winter.

There were no screws, weather sealing foam or any of the other parts advertised. The glass is not double paned so in the winter it lets in a lot of cold. The installation was a nightmare and the petsafe videos pretty much useless. I relied on utube videos which feature people swearing at the door! the adjustable slider at the top leaks air continuously through a half inch wide gap that I have not yet been able to block. After having spent an additional 75 on stuff from the hardware store, I'm going to have to remove the door since it is now freezing in that room.
