To start this food is the first food that doesn’t smell like dog food. This is the first frozen one I tried since my dog is very picky,to the point he sometimes doesn’t eat table food. I ordered the chicken one since that sounded safest. I wish a variety pack was an option. It came well packed with dry ice so it was still frozen when it was delivered. Unfortunately my dog wouldn’t eat it but I still gave it 5stars since it looked good & is made with good ingredients and he’s very picky. I will donate it to someone so it won’t go to waste.I really hoped he would eat it since I would love to get him on this type of food ,it didn’t work out but glad I tried it so I know. I’d recommend trying it if you want to feed this type of food to your dog.

Moxie has been eating from Pet Plate since he was 5 months old. He is now 2.5 years old and the nick name my friends have given him is "the forever puppy." I whole heartedly believe this food is what has kept him as youthful, healthy, and energetic as a puppy. With Pet Plate we don't have to worry if he is getting all of his nutrients because it is all inclusive. I recommend it to all my friends, as well as anyone who asks me what i feed him. Moxie will continue on Pet Plate for the foreseeable future. We absolutely love this company!

My shihtzu loves the lamb, its her favorite, however it has been out of stock forever. The food is well made, it not filled with pasta. rice & potatoes, like some other brands. However, the ordering process is all messed up, everytime I order they always send me venison. My dog hates it!! Even when i order the combo package and it states that venison and lamb are out of stock, they still send me venison. The customer service is wonderful, but I'm still paying for food that I have to donate or throw out. The packing is perfect, it always arrives frozen, but its not the food I ordered. My dog has pancreatic and has a pretty strict diet. Pie Plate is perfect for her, even though its pricey, and even more so because half of my order has to be thrown out.

A good frozen option but maybe not for all dogs

I've always used dry or canned dog food so I wasn't sure what to expect with this. Came frozen, well packaged, and went straight to my freezer except the 3 containers

I've always used dry or canned dog food so I wasn't sure what to expect with this. Came frozen, well packaged, and went straight to my freezer except the 3 containers I planned on using for my dogs once thawed. 2 for my weimaraner and 1 for my pitbull based on the feeding instructions. My weim seemed to really like it, though I realized at his first meal that it would take him a long time to eat. Maybe it's just him, but he insisted on licking it out of the bowl instead of taking bites. No big deal, but just a change from when he gobbles up his kibble or canned food. My pit, on the other hand, completely turned her nose up at it. She sniffed it but wouldn't touch it, to the point where I had to put it back in the fridge and save it for my weim. I don't think there was anything wrong with the food, she just wasn't interested in it. The food itself had visible bits of veggies and mashed meat in it, and I'm pretty surprised she didn't want it as she's the kind of dog who will eat anything off the floor. I gave my weim the rest of the meals over the next few days and he definitely liked it. I didn't notice any indication of upset stomach or illness that might indicate the food wasn't agreeing with his digestive system, which is a point in favor because I didn't slowly transition him to this new food. Overall, I liked the food and the dog who ate it would eat it again. For the dog who didn't touch it, perhaps she would if I introduced it more slowly over a few days or a week by mixing it with her normal food.

I was impressed with how many of the ingredients you can actually see. I used this as a mix in for my german shepherds and they ate their food more quickly than usual. It was a hit! They definitely preferred it warmed but would eat it cold as well. The only gripe I have is kind of a double edged sword - the plastic over the top is so tight it bent the container and broke the pull tab before it actually opened. I ended up opening them with a butter knife. However this means they're well sealed so they're less likely to let air and bacteria in before you open it! For large dogs you'll have to get quite a bit of these. I have 2 german shepherds and one container as just a mix in only lasted a day. You'll definitely want to read the provided instructions on how to slowly introduce this too. It explains the process very well.

This smells like actual human food when heated in the microwave. I like that everything is packaged and shipped to me and I don’t have to prepare anything except throw in the microwave. You can see real carrots, green beans, meat, etc. My senior dog with no teeth loves this food and it’s easy for him to eat. We buy this because of him having no teeth and it’s easier than buying cans. Once he passes, we probably won’t continue buying this due to the price. Our other two dogs eat kibble and we would move them also over to this great quality if it were more reasonably priced.

But, my fussy crew will only eat this for a day or two before I have to switch them to something else. I do wish it wasn't so pricey, but I see they have a bulk pack through chewy that we will buy in the future.

I like the petplate product for my dog. I started out buying the variety pack, because my dog does not want the same food everyday. However she just did not like the smell of the pork or the turkey in the variety pack no matter what I combined it with. So I decided to stop purchasing it. She loves the venison and the lamb, but I can only purchase it in the variety pack. I wish we had the option of choosing what we could put in our box. I don't like throwing away money.
