I've started weaning my dogs puppies on puppy chow with a little warm milk and water added to it to soften it. Mom has been eating the soft stuff too, finishing off the bowl. She is now smelling gassy, maybe it's the little milk I've added to the puppy food. Will these help clean her out?

The morning after taking just one or two of these, your dog will produce such gigantic piles of poop that you will swaear they came from a bear or a moose. If your dogs stay indoors over night, all that poop will go on your floor. The reaction is so extreme and urgent that even the best trained dogs will not be able to hold it. That being said, these chews are basically a diuretic. Therefore this is not a supplement. This is a powerful FLUSH of the bowels that may be dangerous and definitely not what you were thinking when you purchased this. Giving them more than one chew would be insane. YOU SHOULD NOT USE THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOUR VETERINARIAN TOLD YOU THAT YOU MUST USE IT TO SAVE THEIR LIFE. And I can't imagine a scenario where that would be the case. God forbid there was some bowel blockage; their intestines would rupture. I repeat: these chews should be prescription only. Here is a picture of what came out of my miniature terrier. Both of these came out at the same time. That's 5 times as much as his daily poop amount ALL AT ONCE!!!

Begone chronic ear infections!

I am THRILLED!! My golden has had basically one continuous ear infection for the last 2.5 years. The vet cultured the infection and confirmed it was caused by

I am THRILLED!! My golden has had basically one continuous ear infection for the last 2.5 years. The vet cultured the infection and confirmed it was caused by yeast. I rinsed daily, I got creams from the vet, I tried over the counter creams, nothing worked. I got him allergy tested to see if that was what was causing them; he had barely any interaction with any of his allergens. Finally, I myself got prescribed an antibiotic for an infection I had and was reminded by my doctor to take probiotics and eat yogurt to not get a yeast infection. LIGHT BULB!! Why couldn’t I just give my dog probiotics, DUH!?! Found these, ordered them, and they’ve cured it in 2 weeks. I saw a lot of the reviews saying their dogs got diarrhea. To avoid this, I gave him just one treat to start with for a few days, then started to work my way up to the 4 he gets as a 85lb chunk. Absolutely no problems with diarrhea. I haven’t stopped giving him the probiotics yet, so I’m not sure if his infection will return if I do. I intend to finish off the container and then see how he fares after that. But probiotics is certainly not something that will be harmful for him to keep taking if he needs to. Better than a chronic ear infection which is stinky, messy, and I’m sure didn’t feel good for him either. Very, very pleased with this product.

One caution is that they dry out really fast after opening and can become hard and pelletlike before you reach the end of the package. My solution has been to take them out of the container and store them in a tin, with a sheet of wax paper on top.

Maverick is now more than two-and-a-half years old, a very mixed dog, and I gave him his first bactch of these chews beginning when he was about a year old. He was chewing everything, licking his feet and underbelly constantly, and I couldn't get him to stop, period. About two months into our use of these chews, those activities began to subside. We let off those chews after three of these containers had come through; for his size, at the time, it took about five months before he was completely done with them. He remained easy on the licking and chewing for about nine months but, once I recognized he was doing it, again, and this is a heavy-chew dog, I tried other things, again, to get him to slow down on the chewing and licking. I purchased our latest container and it's been three weeks and I'm beginning to see improvement. That and, sometimes, he'll lead me to the refrigerator door to have a couple of these -he only needs about four per day, now, for his size- rather than the pantry door for treats. He likes the foods that have stinky taste and, sometimes, I can even get him to eat kibble -that's a never-ending battle, right there. Maverick's stools are improving, again, as well. It looks like he will be on these for the rest of his life.
