Is this for cats as well? I’ve always purchased this but now it’s marketed for dogs only and I do not see a version for cats on Chewy but Pet Wellbeing does have it on their site.

You are correct—Kidney Support Gold is now marketed as a single formula for both cats and dogs. The active ingredients, including Rehmannia root, Cordyceps, and Astragalus, are identical for both species. The only difference is the labeling on the bottle, but the bacon-flavored liquid inside is the same. Just make sure to follow the weight-based dosage on the packaging for your cats.

My cat has beginning kidney disease stages and is a picky eater. Could this also work as a food enhancer to attract him to eat?

how does this taste? I'm not good at giving things orally to my guy. Will he detect it on his food which is already a challenge to keep him eating

The formula has a plant based bacon flavoring for palatability, you can also add it to the food.

I have been giving this to my little chihuahua since I found out her kidney count was high. It is just slightly elevated. I ordered this because their products have helped my dogs in the past. I can tell by her behavior that her levels are still ok because she has none of the symptoms of a dog with kidney failure. She doesn’t mind the flavor because she scarfs her food down. I wanted to get her on this asap so her count would not go any higher. I will have to get another blood test done soon, but because I have had a dog in kidney failure before and Baby Girl shows none of the signs of kidney issues, I will keep her on this as a preventative supplement.

my holistic vet recommended your product along with mushrooms and c caps too and tumeric. the vet put brutus on steroids. i didnt want to do chemo as i watched my husband die from it. after one month i took brutus back to the vet. he did blood work and said in his whole career he has never seen a cat respond to steroids the way he did. i said it has to be all the suppls. he agreed. his white blood count was good. he does have non regenerative anemia. so i did some research and with the help of chewy pharmacists, we found a brand new drug on the marketwith fda conditionally being approved to treat this. it has to do with his red blood cells now. i will take him back in another week for another blood test to see how he is doing. he has developed peroneal nerve paralysis. dont know when this started. it seemed like it came on when i discovered the lump behind his knee and he was limping. it seemed to clear up. my holistic vet had me put him on another product to see if it will help. i know your product has to be good cause my holistic vet recommended it.

This WAS a five star product and essential to managing my cats CKD before the reformulation. Stop changing the product when it works!

I compared the formula to the old bad and sure enough they changed the formula, this is so disappointing! I hope Chewy will let me return this and hopefully I’ll be able to find a new kidney supplement that still works!
