I have a pug, Maggi, who has Addison's, and now about a week ago she was diagnosed with diabetes. So, any way I can keep track of her health, I'm game. When I first saw these, I thought it was a great idea. But, first, nowhere on the box do they tell you that you need to lay the white side down, completely opposite of ALL other potty pads. I couldn't figure out why Maggi's urine kept running right off the pads. When I finally figured it out, I even went online to see if I could find anywhere that said, "White side down," but I couldn't. Also, they act like healthy urine will turn green, but it doesn't turn any color. It stays the same, and turns pink if the PH is off. Also, even when I did figure out white side is down, it still wasn't great with holding liquids. I had to have a bag rt there to throw it away in, because it would drip. Definitely a bit disappointed.

Works Well

These pads really do work well! Just be sure to put the GREEN side up, if it’s not absorbing (white side) it’s upside down. It’s been very handy to see the purple

These pads really do work well! Just be sure to put the GREEN side up, if it’s not absorbing (white side) it’s upside down. It’s been very handy to see the purple color getting lighter, so it appears the infection is getting better with the antibiotics my puppy is taking. I agree with other reviewers, this pad is small. Wish the company made this in a larger size.

Pawsitives about this product: 1. Wee wee pads are absorptive. 2. Wee wee pads turn a color when peed upon. Negatives: 1. We determined that the color doesn't necessarily reflect our baby's health. It can be different colors throughout the day depending on when she eats and what she eats. Totally fun to watch when we feed her table scraps, though not much diagnostics on her health. 2. The box clearly says Large. They are NOT. We normally buy large wee wee pads so I put the 2 sizes side-by-side. See picture 4. This should be called Medium at the very least.

Does Not Absorb Urine or Change Color

The pH doggy pee pads have a waxy coating that prevents proper urine absorption, even after 24 hours. They also failed to change color to indicate my dog’s urine

The pH doggy pee pads have a waxy coating that prevents proper urine absorption, even after 24 hours. They also failed to change color to indicate my dog’s urine pH level. Since my dog primarily goes potty outside, her pads are only for emergencies so I wouldn’t recommend this as a tool for proper pH-level detection. While thick, they’re only useful as a barrier to protect flooring from poop. I don’t recommend them for accurate pH monitoring or as reliable pee pads.

Simple product but for those in need it can be super useful and a safeguard yowards pet health and safety. Just lay it fown as you would wee wee pads and it clearly shpws either green (good) or purple for elevated(unhealthy )ph levels. Why didn't someone think of this sooner. Our Snowball is on a "urinary SO" type food diet and almost had kidney stones and if we had this product earlier it would have been super informative.

Helped 2 of my Dogs!!!

I got these and right away they showed that 2 of my dogs had High PH. I took them to the vet and they found crystals in their urine. If it wasn't for these color

I got these and right away they showed that 2 of my dogs had High PH. I took them to the vet and they found crystals in their urine. If it wasn't for these color changing pee pads I never would have known. The vet said these are great, the dogs had exactly what it showed. He put them on a special diet to lower their PH. Get these pads! If the PH was left untreated both my dogs would get kidney stones.

I got these for free with a previous order. They do work. Our older chi's urine turned purple while she was still on an antibiotic for a respiratory infection. After she was off the antibiotic, it turned green again. They are thicker than other pads. It's difficult to tell which side goes up. It does say on the box to put the green side up.

This is an interesting product and great idea that I wanted to try to see what it could/would tell about my dog. Having a male dog made it a little difficult to use inside put I was able to put it down outside when he was going to the bathroom. It was pretty cool when the color changed but one time I got a yellowish color that I'm going to assume was just urine (it was not green or purple).
