Pennington Select Birder's Blend Seed & Mealworm Mix Wild Bird Food, 40-lb bag

I used to care for a wild bird in my home named Birdie. When she was able to leave the nest, I wanted to make sure her and her new family had a good quality food they could eat.

I bought 2 of these bags and NOT A SINGLE MEALWORM. Look at the unopened bag versus the advertised pictures. Had I known, I would have bought 2 different type and mix them myself. 0 star if I could.

I was looking for a birdseed blend that included mealworms for bluebirds, and this was a good blend for the price. Unfortunately, the millet and milo in the mix also attracts a ton of house sparrows, grackles, and starlings. So once the bluebirds left, my backyard became home to a flock of sparrows that seem to displace the other "good" birds. I'm switching to something a little more expensive without millet and milo to try to discourage the sparrows from camping in my backyard.

Upon receiving this massive bag of bird seed, my one cat (Milo) started drooling at the mouth because of the prospect of many, MANY birds appearing on our back deck. Milo was not disappointed. I have a bird feeder in my back yard that sits over mulch (I have a rocked yard, and since this bird seed will sprout all over if I let it, I let it do it's think in the mulch). I can't keep this feeder full. I put in a couple of scoops of this delicious medley, and the birds engulf it instantly and my cat is chuffing at the door as he watches this show. It did bring a wide variety of bird, but I'm not super familiar with what they are? As advertised, there were cardinals, chickadees, and so many house finch/sparrows. I will definitely be purchasing another bag at some point (I still have some left) to keep these birds (and my cat) extremely happy.
