First, this review is in no way a comment about Chewy. They did not make this feeder, they just sell it. We mounted this feeder onto a heavy post because it seemed pretty flimsy when it arrived. We have taken good care of it. Should have just sent it back. It has already fallen apart less than five months after purchase. First, one of the suet cake holders just fell off - apparently only held on by two tiny thin staples that are not even as strong as a paper clip. Then the whole one side collapse outwards and the plexiglass pieces fell out. We will be buying a handmade, actually sturdy feeder from Etsy. You get what you pay for and this feeder is not even worth what we paid for it. Stay away.

We have tried many types of bird feeders and many of the wooden type are put together with "staples" for the sides and bottom, and "very thin" clear plastic for the removable side walls. This one is put together with very sturdy "screws" thicker wooden platform and ends, and thicker removable plastic walls. It also has a better hanging system that I am hoping with last a long time. The suet holders at each end are much more sturdy and well secured. It is already "a very busy feeder".

The bird feeder broke completely two months after purchase. This was the second time it broke. The first time the wire it hangs from came completely out of the feeders, but I was able to repair it. I doubt it can be repaired this time.

Already breaking apart.

I bought this bird feeder in Feb 2024 and it is already breaking apart. I hadn't noticed the bottom of it when I bought it but wished I would have.

Rec'd on 5/11. This past week we decided to get it ready and up in the tree. Added sunflower seed, and two suet blocks. It was a breezy day and within 2 hours it was on the ground. The hanger cord came out of the shoddy metal piece that was supposed to ancher the cord on the inside of the feeder. We attempted to secure it once again to the tiny metal piece and put an extra tack on that side. Back up in the tree, and within 1/2 it was back on the ground, now with the roof broken in two and the one suet holder unhinged and dragging. This time there was no way to fix this thing. Into the garbage it went. A waste of $$, and all we can do is let everyone know that it is a flimsy, ill made piece of junk. I would not chance ordering anything that is from Pennington again.

I had to add some tree branches to each side because there is not enough room for the larger birds to land. Some of the smaller Cardinals were able to land sideways and feed but nothing larger could land untill I add the tree branches on each side. I just screwed them to the sides and now all the birds can land comfortably and feed. I was a little disappointed in that aspect of the bird feeder. Other than that the feeder is well made and should last several seasons.
