My dog loves these. It’s been his bedtime treat for years. He gets one stick per night right before going to bed. These treats have not prevented him from developing tartar and plaque. His teeth are yellow and some brown in areas. I don’t think this is a replacement for regular teeth brushing at all. It may help a bit but overall I don’t see a huge impact on keeping his teeth clean and free of plaque/tartar build up. Anyway I continue to use them because it’s part of his night time routine but I highly recommend using another prevention method regularly, like teeth brushing with toothpaste or gel, water additive, or dental powder, and regular dental cleanings if you can afford it. Some people claim these treats give their dogs diarrhea and vomiting. My dog has never experienced this. Of course every dog is different but my question would be- are you feeding according to the guidelines set on the box? My recommendation is to give only one per day or follow feeding instructions on the package before blaming the product. I wouldn’t recommend this as the only approach to dental health but it is a nice additive to a more stringent regimen.

Our dogs like these Dentastix more than any other type of treat. We have tried a half-dozen "substitutes"; the dogs either turned-up a nose, or they were sick, throwing-up the next day. Unfortunately, Pedigree has raised and re-raised the prices of this product, reduced the length of the sticks themselves, and otherwise made them too expensive to purchase. But our dogs don't really understand the economics, only that a Dentastix is what they expect for being "Good Boys". What I have to say to you and Pedigree is, "someone has to step-up and stop this "food" inflation, and it's not the "Government" is it. What do you say, Mr. CEO?
