Customer care CHEWY is beyond gold standard

This is not a review about the food, but about the service at Chewy. This was my final auto-ship order as my beloved pet/friend/family member (Shelby) lost her brief bout with cancer. I usually AutoShip five cases of dog food a month, but I noticed towards the end of December (the day after Christmas) my dog was no longer eating her food. I thought maybe she changed her pallet so I went to the supermarket but one can of something else and she ate it so I ordered five cases from Chewy. They were terrific and allowed me to return the five unopened cases. Shortly before the new food arrived my dog stopped eating, the cancer in her lungs (that we only found out about a few days prior) was progressing very fast. Needless to say we lost her without her eating a single can of food. I did call chewy again and was going to ask them if I could ship back another five cases of food and explained the circumstances. I had yet to ship the first cases back when they told me I can donate all 10 cases to my local shelter and they will refund me the money. I thought that was amazing and good hearted of the company to do. They truly care about our pets and giving to others. Matter of fact shortly after I informed them of the passing of my dear Shelby they actually sent a small flower arrangement which blew me away the way they take such a personal and loving approach when it comes to our pets. Chewy is truly a very highly reputable company with compassionate staff and truly are advocates for our pets. Thank you so much Chewy!

Didn’t open our canned food right away, as my dogs were still working on a a previous pack. My husband and I kept smelling something bad but had no idea it was the canned dog food until I went to open it tonight to get a can out!! Looks like half of them are slightly opened and the smell, omg! And then I saw the maggots! OMG! When they get delivered we’re bring them inside instantly and put them in our spare room where we feed from. This was the last thing we expected to find! Thank goodness we finally found were that horrid smell was coming from!!

I stopped using chewy due to careless shipping practices. Was lured back after a long hiatus by a " come back" coupon. Once again 4 cases of canned food thrown into a single large box without proper packaging. Not only did I have crushed cans, but also dog food juices were all over everything. Including the bag of dry food also thrown into the same box! After washing down the bag and removing the nasty, soaked labels from the salvaged cans... I will go back to ordering from elsewhere. Cleaning up stinky half dried dog food juice not really worth it. Enough is enough Chewy! Fix the shipping issues!

If I didn't know better, I would think our standard poddle was a cat. She has been a fussy eater since around the time she became an adult, and it has at times been hard to get her to eat at all. We have given away lots of dog food the last few years and come back to one basic food she will eat, even if grudgingly. Recently she wouldn't even eat that, so I broke down and bought some canned food to keep her from losing any more weight. She now asks to eat at a specific and regular time every day and has gained back her lost weight. Cost is just about the same and we have a happy Bella again.

So I ordered a 12 pack of canned dog food and it got here just fine. The brand name really doesn’t matter. You all should consider changing courier. FedEx left my box on top of my mailbox and I am on a 4 acre lot. I had to walk out to my mailbox, Grab the package (which is exactly light) and haul it back to my house. I’m a 72-year-old man and though I used to be strong, it is a bit of a struggle for me. Again might want to rethink your courier. I love the service, I just rather my packages get delivered to my door instead of out by my mailbox.

A few weeks ago, my elderly dog decided to stop eating her regular food. I ordered some Pedigree wet dog food pouches and to my surprise, she gobbled them up! I only had enough for a few days and my local stores didn’t carry it. Chewy to the rescue. I ordered some on Wednesday and we had a terrible ice storm on Thursday. The food was delivered Friday morning and Mia never missed a bite! Thank you Chewy!

Poor handling of purchase

My order arrived as scheduled but when I went to retrieve it off my porch I found the boxes were crumpled and when I opened the larger box one can from each package

My order arrived as scheduled but when I went to retrieve it off my porch I found the boxes were crumpled and when I opened the larger box one can from each package of dog food had been damaged from being dropped. Please see attached photos of the damages. In the future the dog food should be packed in its own box. Not with a 40 lb box of cat litter.

Tired of cans missing the tab

Annoyed that every so often a can wont have the tab on top. They dont open well with a can opener. The top shreds and im worried about metal fraying into the food

Pedigree wet food is a staple in our dog's food rotation and for good reason! Both Doug and Carrie absolutely love all the flavors. They lick their bowls clean every time. Lots of chunks and gravy! The only downside and this is no fault of the product itself... is that our delivery is sometimes arrive with a few damaged cans or beat-up boxes, likely due to rough handling by FedEx. So we won’t dock a star for that, but I wish Chewy would ship wet food in separate boxes and not combine with other items.
