Oxbow Simple Rewards Oven Baked with Bell Pepper Small Animal Treats, 3-oz bag

The new shape and texture of all these types of Oxbow treats are here to stay. I was hoping that my recent order (this Bell Pepper flavor, Peppermint, and Carrot and Dill) may contain some bags that had the original shape and texture, but sadly, no. My entire order contained bags with this unwanted shape and texture. These are just too big for my guinea pigs, and the texture is way too hard. I'm able to solve the texture issue by fitting a piece of sliced bread in the container to help soften the treats. This method takes a few pieces of bread to go through before the treats have softened enough for my little wheekers. Even though I'm able to solve the texture issue, this should not have been an issue to begin with. I also have problems with the bag seal, so I have to move the treats to a better container. What makes this even more upsetting is that these types of treats are the only ones safe and healthy enough for my guinea pigs. It's either these treats or no treats for my guinea pigs, and I certainly do not want to deprive my little wheekers of treats. Chewy also does not allow me to edit my reviews once they've been submitted, so if anything worse or better happens, I won't be able to say.

My Milo just loves these they smell good. They’re fresh. The day is always high and the quality of Oxbow is number one to me when itcomes to guinea pigs.

These used to be my piggies favorite flavor before they changed it. Now they smell it and turn their heads. They are very thick and hard to bite. I have to soak them for a few seconds before giving it to them. Wish I knew they changed it before I bought 6 bags.
