Questions & Answers

How long is the shelf life of these multivitamin treats once the package has been opened? Will they loose their potency over time?

Answer by ChewyNov 26, 2018
The “Best By” date on the back of the package refers to the shelf-life of an unopened product. Once the supplement is opened, the product is best used within 60 days. Any oxygen the product is exposed to once the package has been opened will lead to vitamin degradation over time, but studies have repeatedly shown the product’s vitamin content is stable for a full 60 days. It is important to squeeze as much air out of the package as possible and seal the top between uses.

Would it be okay to give these alongside Oxbow Natural Science vitamin C tablets?

Answer by ChewyJul 05, 2021
There is L-Ascorbyl-2-Monophosphate (Vitamin C) in this product. We encourage speaking with your Veterinarian before combining supplements, for the safest opinion.

Can these be given to squirrels?

Answer by ChewyJan 09, 2020
Oxbow Natural Science Multi-Vitamin Small Animal Supplement is nutritionally appropriate for squirrels, with the appropriate dose being ¼ tablet daily.

are these healthy for ferrets?

i’m coming to the end of my first bag and was back on the site to order more so i thought i’d drop a review! i give my little man 1 tablet that i split in half so it’s easier for him to eat, and he gets as excited about them as he does the dried strawberry/banana treats i use with him, and i love that it’s making sure he gets the vitamins he needs. i would recommend if you want to feel at peace knowing you’re taking care of your bunny’s stomach preventatively (:

My bunny BEGS for treats all the time and I worry about his diet because I am such a pushover for that FACE. I bought the Oxbow vitamins thinking HE will think they are the daily treat and he LOVES them. I break them in half so he gets 2 under his forage cups to find.

I was afraid at first to give these to my bunny because, we are still unsure on how old she really is. Monster pets tpld me they get bunnies from 13 weeks and since she was a baby, i just assumed she was 3 months old. The lady told me not change her diet until she is at least 6 months, but no one gets it. This bunny is not normal lol. She acts like we have had her her whole life! She can handle so much and she is amazing. Every morning she is up, bright and early, waiting for her vitamin. It says i can give her a whole one, but since she is still young, i have broken them down into fourths. Then the next bottle ill move her to halves, then the next bottle she will start getting wholes. I highly recommend this! Best vitamins!

Seriously they go wild for treats, and even though they turned their nose up at the first tablet I offered them, they’ve been taking them happily and willingly for years now! Healthiest treats I can offer them! My boys are 6 and 7lbs and take 2 a day.

My Guinea pigs WANT to eat it

So these came in today (ordered the day before yesterday, fast shipping) and I handed them to my guinea pigs, broke them apart for serving size and they got so excited. They loved the smell so much, but they'd try to bite into it for like a minute and it was too hard, and they gave up. Tried multiple times, too. So what I did is dampen the treats with some water, wait til they softened and gave them to them then. I recommend these treats in their natural form for the larger small animals, and for smaller small animals you should dampen it slightly so it softens and is easier to chew if your pet is refusing to eat it. One of my guineas is 2 months, the other is 4 months old so they're just babies.

I purchased these for my rabbit and chinchilla. I gave them a five star rating for my chinchilla's review. He loves them, Has no issue eating theses. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for my rabbit. My rabbit will not touch them. I wish he would though. He's getting old as dirt and could use the extra nutrition multi-vitamins have to offer. Well maybe ill have better luck with something different for him. But all in all 100% Happy with the results for my chinchilla.

My rats love these! They get a quarter piece each morning. They wait patiently at their cages when they hear me get up, like little inmates holding the bars of their cages! I usually would add drops to their water, and that was a pain, compaired to giving them a quarter piece of each tablet. Although a little hard to break up...my rats love these vitamins!

This Multi Vitamin is Must for my house bunny!

My bun gets a varied diet daily, with crunchy food, fresh green "salad", 2nd cut timothy hay and a healthy variety of chew toys. In Florida, it's too hot for her to be outside to get direct sun and nibble around. So, I give her one of these daily, broken in half. She eats them with her crunchy food and dried papaya, also from Chewy. She has been a healthy rabbit, so I think these help.
