My pets enjoy this food, but be careful about the packaging.

I usually buy Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Food for my piggies as they enjoy it and it isn't overly expensive. However, for this recent order, the bag arrived

I usually buy Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Food for my piggies as they enjoy it and it isn't overly expensive. However, for this recent order, the bag arrived with a two inch slash in the side that made some of the pellets fall out. I used duct tape to patch up the rip but I'm a bit concerned about the freshness of the pellets since they've been exposed to air earlier than I had intended (I still have 75% of my current bag of food remaining before I need to open the new bag). Not sure if this was an error made during shipping or the bag just needs to be made of slightly thicker material. I recommend this item in general, but this particular bag may not be as fresh as the item usually seem to be.

This product is one of the best by far! I have my 7 guinea pig children and a rabbit baby as well. They all love this brand! It's such a great product that the look and even smell is better. My babies were on Kaytee before and it just looks processed with the bad for them colored bits as well. Don't even get me started on the smell!! But this food looks all natural and has almost no scent!! I love it so much!! Thank you Oxbow for having such a great product and thank you Chewy.com for carrying at such an affordable price and excellent service!!

AMAZING! But bag was torn

Ok so this is an amazing product! But the bag was torn. That was a little alarming to me but seeing as my pigs gobble it up I think it’s fine. This is he best product

Ok so this is an amazing product! But the bag was torn. That was a little alarming to me but seeing as my pigs gobble it up I think it’s fine. This is he best product I’ve ever had. But it was my bad for ordering the 25 lb bag. It’s like a dog food bag. And they only need so little a day I think it might last a while. They get so excited when they hear me scoop it up that sometimes I think they pee themselves. If you are thinking about buying it this is a good choice. I was feeding sunburst and my pigs were not having it. Understandable. Sunburst is disgustingly sugary. It took the pigs a while to warm up to the food but when they did man, you better move your fingers unless you wanna get them ripped off by the hungry little monsters. (Guinea pigs)

I am so happy to have found oxbow pellets in bulk! I preferred garden select for my guinea pigs but this was just too much of a bargain to pass up on. I like oxbow

I am so happy to have found oxbow pellets in bulk! I preferred garden select for my guinea pigs but this was just too much of a bargain to pass up on. I like oxbow because I've heard it's a good trusted brand and it did not disappoint! HUGE bag which will easily last my two piggies at least 5 months! I always hated buying a 4 pound bag every 3 weeks or so for $13. This is a much better price and less hassle with buying a new bag all the time!

Picky eater ate it.

Adopted a 4 yr old guinea pig who had eaten hamster junk food his whole life. The owners gave me his food. I tried to mix 50/50 hamster food with real guinea pig

Adopted a 4 yr old guinea pig who had eaten hamster junk food his whole life. The owners gave me his food. I tried to mix 50/50 hamster food with real guinea pig food, another brand but also Timothy based. He would eat around healthy pellets and then dump bowl in protest. When out of hamster food I paid big bucks at pet store for oxbow and he ate without protest so I bought this big bag from Chewy knowing he will eat it. A few notes: stabilized vitamin C is why you need pellet food but it doesn't last forever so it may be better to buy smaller bags more often. The bag I bought from Chewy will be good for more than a year. The 25 lb bag is big and heavy so if you have a apartment you may want smaller bag. I live in the desert so my basement is 5% humid and 50 degrees year round but if you live someplace warm and damp get the smaller bag even though it has less discount because fresh is healthier.

love it for my piggys

I have 4 guinea pigs and they get pellets daily, they love oxbow everything! Our favorite hay is the timothy/orchard hay mix and this is definitely our favorite

I’ve been getting Oxbow for years now and they’re the most reliable brand :) I get it in both the adult feed and the young feed for whenever I have little babies

Their hay is the best as well! I always buy everything in bulk as it’s so good and so affordable and lasts a long time! Definitely gets my vote and all 6 of my piggies approval!! <3

We appreciate the consistency and quality of Oxbow's pellet food. Over the last few years of running our sanctuary, we've done extensive reading on several varieties of pellet food, tested a few, and Oxbow has always come out on top for overall pick. Sherwood pellet food is certainly our favorite recipe, though we couldn't begin to make up for the difference in cost. Some other brands use corn byproducts, pork fat, formaldehyde, rice, seeds, and dyes - sadly we've rescued guinea pigs suffering from severe health issues because of these foods. Those that weren't too far gone began improving within a week on Oxbow.

Oxbow was recommended by our vet to make sure our piggies we’re getting enough vitamin C. First I only bought a 5 pound bag because they have a history of being very picky! We used to give them Vitakraf Menu but would often throw out much they didn’t eat. Not so with Oxbow! They eat it all! No more wasting food! Piggy approved! :)
