Feeding Instructions ADULT: Feed 3/4 - 1 can per 10lbs of body weight per day. Does this mean that my 90-pound dog would need 6.75 cans of this food per day ( 90 / 10 X 0.75 = 6.75 ) ?! If so, my dog would need to eat a case of 12 cans of this food/day! Was this a typo?

A 90 lb. dog would need approximately: 3 cans per day if less active, and 5 cans per day if active, This applies when the dog is being fed 100% wet food with no dry food included. The guideline that states: “ADULT: Feed 2/3 - 3/4 can per 10 lbs of body weight per day, up to 30 lbs” is intended only for dogs up to 30 lbs, as small dogs have higher calorie needs per pound. Larger dogs require a different calculation, which is why the feeding calculator provides a more accurate recommendation for dogs above 30 lbs. For clarity, dogs who get more than one hour of vigorous exercise per day would be considered active, and dogs who receive less than one hour of vigorous exercise per day would be considered less active. It’s important to note that Feeding Guides are based on the average consumption of a group of animals and should be used as a starting point. Actual feeding requirements can vary depending on activity level, metabolism, environment, and body condition. If based on your dog’s current condition you feel they may need more or less food, you can adjust within 10-15% of the recommended amount.
