My pup had surgery to remove a soft cell sarcoma. It was on his neck at the back of his head. The size of the incision required to get good margins as well as the location, gave Darwin an eye lift. Although he can close his eyes all the way most of the time, when sleeping, his eyes stay open. The vet recommended this product to keep his eyes from drying out at night. It may just be me but I have a difficult time with portion control. I seem to waste a lot as it comes out in blobs instead of drops. I wish there was a better way to dispense it.

This clear eye ointment is a God sent for me to have on hand for many dogs I have shared my life with. I rescue blind..elderly and handicapped dogs and keep them till Heaven calls them. Without this product I know they would have suffered pain and I simply will not allow that when such a wonderful ointment is available from Chewy! Ask your vet about it! Colby had to have one eye removed due to disease...when I got him

I needed to have eye lubrication for Buster Posey’s left eye, it was over a weekend, the order wouldn’t be received until Monday and then mailed after that. The person helping me must’ve heard the desperation of my voice, and somehow the medication arrived on Tuesday! That’s real caring. Thank you. Have an amazing team.

My shih-tzu had eye surgery and this the product the eye specialist recommended. In addition, the surgeon said that if any of my pups get dry eyes this is the best product. Although my shih tzu has recovered, I still used this periodically after a day at the park to restore lubricate her dry eyes from playing in grass.

Last year, my Goldendoodle began to have the 'gunk' in both her eyes. I tried regular people moisture drops and they were ok but I was still having to clean out her eyes every morning. The vet tested her with the paper strips and said it was more 'dry eye' than allergies. I tried the gel he recommended found at a big box store; it wasn't as good as the moisture drops. I thought I would try this gel and so far after three days, it is good. Her eyes even look better. I had to remove just a little bit of 'gunk' one of the days so I am pleased with this product. As per another review, it does come out fast so I am practicing with only one drop so as not to be wasteful. My dog doesn't mind these thick drops at all. I will continue to purchase this product.

I have a partially blind Shih Tzu. I have been using Terramycin Ointment for years now. Lately they have been out of stock so I tried this. I will not be going back to the ointment. The first picture was after the vet recommended a saline rinse because her eyes were dry. A day after administering the rinse her eyes got worse and were actually scabbed with mucus and hard as a rock. She couldn't even blink and her eyes would not close while sleeping. The second picture was after using Optixcare. The next day, the scab finally detached from her eye and her confidence went through the roof. She was more comfortable with walking around and even ran a bit. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. It is more like a gel than an ointment. Surprisingly between doses her eyes stay lubricated and she has been able to blink more frequently and comfortably.

When I first brought home my rescue kitten Kira, she was currently dealing with some allergies & pink eye. She had a slight squint so I started with eye drops to help her. She didn't mind them but she would still flinch a little after the drops were applied. Just for comparison, I bought this Optixcare gel. She didn't flinch at all, and feels quite relieved after the gel is applied and I'm done wiping her eyes with wipes. I'm not sure about other cats, but both of mine feel more at ease with the gel compared to liquid drops. Results were obvious after a few applications. I will continue with this gel in the future.

PohGoh’s eyes, especially the eye on the same side as an irritated ear, was continuously crusting in the corners. The eardrops from chewy helped his ears immensely, and subsequently the one bad eye became normal. Applying the eye solution has stopped both eyes’ crusty corners and paw-rubbing altogether! No need for an expensive vet visit!

I have become the “forever foster” to a 14 years young cocker spaniel named Briley. As a volunteer for a rescue, I’ve dealt with many dogs with lots of different issues but dry eyes tend to be a common issue and OptixCare has been the most recommended product from the animal ophthalmologist in conjunction with prescription eye drops. It’s viscous texture stays put when placed in the eyes- Briley has had remarkable recovery with her dry eyes and now has enough vision to track a tennis ball and is able to sometimes even catch it mid air
