No fleas Yippee

My dog is mostly poodle. She is always itching and scratching herself it seems like it never stops. So she is on Apoquel now for itchy skin. I give her a pill wrapped in lunchmeat maybe every two or three days. I tried this flea medicine because I thought it would make a difference in her scratching. Well it didn’t. However I do not see any fleas at all on her. I used to use frontline and I would still see fleas once in awhile. So at the moment I do recommend this flea medicine. I also give her a bath maybe every 4 to 5 days. I use Hartz flea and tick bath and that works wonders too. When she was on frontline and I’d give her a bath I could see the fleas in the water dying. With Onguard I didn’t see any fleas falling into the bath water. Apoquel is ridiculously expensive. I wish it was priced lower because no dog should have to suffer with itchy skin. Love my doggy in Katy, TX

Happy pup!

I got this for my 15 old schnauzer who got fleas from my last apartment complex. I tried Advantage which did not work and didn’t want to get a prescription treatment

I got this for my 15 old schnauzer who got fleas from my last apartment complex. I tried Advantage which did not work and didn’t want to get a prescription treatment because of the price. After about a week of using this I noticed the itching was slowly going away! My dog also has very sensitive skin and has lost a good amount of hair over the years. After his first bath using this product, I only saw maybe 3-5 fleas in the tub whereas before it was at least a dozen! Buddy approves as a senior pup! #ChewyTeamRated

Well there's this...

I know Frontline was the first of it's kind because I bred dogs since the late 90's early Ought's. Live in the South near woods had Catahoula's and Teacup Yorkies

I know Frontline was the first of it's kind because I bred dogs since the late 90's early Ought's. Live in the South near woods had Catahoula's and Teacup Yorkies. I started with Frontline when it first became available. It worked awesome then in every seneraio. For years, I'd purchase the packs for proper weight for each dog then I switched to the huge bottle of spray. The spray worked equally as well. May note, the Catahoula's stayed outside wandering more, but came inside each night. Yorkies only went out for bathroom breaks and to run about briefly. Fast forward to 2015-present, I believe the fleas around here have become rather immune to the ingredients used in Frontline and this is why it's become less effective over the last many years. Its not uncommon for insects of all kinds to develop resistance to poisons. This is exactly why pest control companies are constantly changing their products to still be effective in killing insects. Fire Ants have rapidly become resistant to most poisons faster than I would've imagined. Its shocking Frontline ingredients still work in some areas of the US which aren't as infested with fleas most the year as the South and Southeast tend to be. As it's grown hotter and stayed hotter for longer, welcome to our flea issues down here and finding good flea preventive. Currently, I'm still using this item on my elderly rescue Yorkie. Its identical ingredients as Frontline and far cheaper. Only makes good sense do to so besides I trust Chewy to make quality products, period. The reason why I'm still using this product is because ALL the other products are having the EXACT SAME issues. Lucy doesn't go outside much. She uses her pads most the time because the heat is just too much for her. Luckily, I've only found 3 or 4 fleas on her so that's well within acceptible range. My house isn't infested. I'm not being bitten by fleas so we're good here with this product. People have unrealistic expectations for flea prevention and especially with how these products work is the cause for most the bad reviews that I've seen. I might add Lucy's prone to seizures from products like these as many dogs are. If you're not very observant, you could miss the small seizures that are caused by products like these. Most times they aren't grand mal seizures, but small seizures that last only seconds sometimes not even knocking your pup down from their feet but they will seem dazed and confused. I strongly suggested to watch out for it. Anyways, I hope this review has been helpful to those of you who don't know why this product hasn't worked to your expectations but it's still a great product and just perhaps you should give it another try.

review from my dog Nikki

Don't know where I picked up the initial fleas, none of the other pets have them. My human pet bathed me, made sure I was dry and put some in between my shoulder

Don't know where I picked up the initial fleas, none of the other pets have them. My human pet bathed me, made sure I was dry and put some in between my shoulder blades, so I can't get to it. Within 24 hours the fleas and eggs are gone and they haven't come back yet. I feel a lot better. Hope he remembers to keep treating me every month. I love my human pet. He takes good care of me, along with Chewy.

I have 6 dogs, ranging from extra large to extra small. I’ve always made sure they had preventative treatment, & I never had an issue with fleas. After researching this product, comparing ingredients & reading reviews, I decided to try this for my crew. The first month, I noticed a few live tics, & the dogs were scratching a bit. I applied the treatment the 2nd month & a few days later, I was dismayed to find some fleas on 2 of my dogs. Upon checking, one of my other dogs was horribly infested. The other 3 had numerous fleas as well. Not a few; an infestation. This has resulted in : an emergency vet visit, all 6 to groomers appointments, 2 days washing everything in site, deep cleaning the house & scheduled a pest control service. I’ve had dogs my entire life. Never have I had a product fail so completely. My dogs are all rescues, & my heart ached for how miserable they were. Please use caution when buying this product!

Onguard Plus Flea & Tick Spot Treatment for Dogs,

I have a 12-year-old, 20-pound Bichon Fries that constantly gets flea and tick attacks. I applied the Onguard Plus treatment and within five days my dog was free

I have a 12-year-old, 20-pound Bichon Fries that constantly gets flea and tick attacks. I applied the Onguard Plus treatment and within five days my dog was free of any attacks from fleas and ticks. I was so impressed by the quality and performance of this product. Since the application of Onguard, and being in the recent wave of hot temperatures in Southern California, the product has been delivered as designed. I have had no instances of fleas and ticks attacking my dog. Its effectiveness has reduced the requirement for frequent baths to ward off fleas/ticks. This is an outstanding product to address flea and tick issues without using harsh ingredients. I am very pleased with the performance of this Onguard Plus product and give it a 5-star Rating.

Never had a problem

I used this in 2020 and 2021 on 2 of my babies. No problem yet, thank you Jesus. I was reading some of the views, just a suggestion to other buyers. If you have

I used this in 2020 and 2021 on 2 of my babies. No problem yet, thank you Jesus. I was reading some of the views, just a suggestion to other buyers. If you have critters, mean alot of critters running around your area, that's why the fleas are horrible. I had too many raccoons, my jax's caught fleas. I used it, yes they came back following month. I found the fleas living in the fall leaves, because as well the raccoons were coming to grab for nesting. Sprayed critters spray, under my deck, leaves, mulch...used this again, knocked on wood no fleas, not alot of critters. I have 4 dogs and 3 in house cats. So bugs are a no no for me. Hope this opinion helps and protects your babies.

As the big brother to cats who were rescued from the outside, we've had fleas a few times. Nothing seemed to work especially since one kitty likes to go outside sometimes. Thanks to this treatment Tango has no more fleas, or as my niece calls them, "cuucuus". #ChewyTeamRated
