Do you still boil the original style bone in chicken broth to clean an flavor?
Is this chew appropriate for a 1 year old (17 pound) dog or is it too hard? I saw this on your website - "With their new adult teeth, adolescent puppies will be able to handle slightly firmer dog toys, although Gruen recommends not giving anything too hard, as it can initiate dental wear."

My Pit bull mix IS the ultimate chewer, I use to buy rawhide chewy's for him but he went through them in a day!! So I switched it up to the Nylabone and since then
My Pit bull mix IS the ultimate chewer, I use to buy rawhide chewy's for him but he went through them in a day!! So I switched it up to the Nylabone and since then it has been a love relationship with him and the bones! They are pretty pricey if you buy them at the usual pet stores so I came online to check out prices and they are probably 3/4 cheaper here then in the stores!! Great Find and Satisfied Dogs!! I have a new addition to my fur family and he was rescued right off a busy city street and he also loves Nylabones, my Pit and him fight over it lol!!! So I am here to buy 2 so they can each have their own bones!! I am new to Chewy.com but not new to Nylabones!

The price was decent and they seem to hold up too heavy chewing, no pieces break off. Once it gets rough pretty much have to throw it away or it rips your dogs gums

Our pit/heeler mix is the most enthusiastic chewer I've ever had, and this toy has held up to his daily chew sessions. It is getting ragged on the ends so I've been watching out in case he breaks a whole chunk off, but he has not been able to do that so far. For a dog that would chew on a metal pole if given the opportunity, this toy has been a lifesaver. The photo is after 3+ weeks of daily chewing

I know every vet out there will tell you that these aren't good for your dogs, and they aren't. Got a power chewer? My bostons chew like they have a grudge, like they're violently angry at that chew toy. They chew like they don't have janky teeth that need to be treated well. They chew like that bone owns them money, and that means that the 'appropriate' chew toys as suggested by specialists everywhere last maybe 5 minutes. If that. So my two bostons from time to time get the nylabone for a little dental health and we have to monitor them while they have it. Once it gets aggressive with the toofers, we remove it for another day. These last for weeks with my little chew happy dogs. Note that when the ends of the nylabone get all roughed up they can cut gums and cause a little bleeding, so toss them when they get like that.
