I adopted my pup at 6 months old in 2016, and today I’m ringing in 2020 with an outstandingly healthy, 4 year old dog. When I initially adopted my dog, she came riddled with health issues. She was malnourished, patches of fur were missing throughout her body, her skin had an excessive presence of dandruff, and she required WEEKS of treatment for a resilient case of Giardia. From the beginning, I chose to feed her Nutro Ultra Adult formula because of the quality ingredients that are used in this dog food. After treating her initial health issues and consistently feeding her Nutro Ultra, my dog has not since had any kind of digestive issues, her skin isn’t dry or flaky, her coat is long and shiny, and she has always received A+ health remarks at the vet. In summary, I firmly believe this dog food contributes to improving a dog’s overall health AND maintaining good health over time.

I always bought into the "wolves eat a grain free diet so dogs should too" until my standard poodle Gunnar began having stomach upset, blow you out of the room gas, dark blackish stool, either very hard or diarrhea. I had him on a very high quality grain free diet and I've had him on grain free since he was a puppy. Suddenly vets everywhere are suggesting that certain grain free products may be causing enlarged heart. Google it for yourself. I worried because of the propensity of my dog to have Gastric dilatation volvulus, so he's on a diet with grains now with lots of vegetables and fruit too, and he LOVES it. His stool is back to normal and he's drinking more water. We're all happy. Yay Nutro Ultra!
Above average food
So I chose this for my one year old border collie. It’s an above average food and is highly recommended on pet food advisor.... however, she’s doing great on it
So I chose this for my one year old border collie. It’s an above average food and is highly recommended on pet food advisor.... however, she’s doing great on it but I feel like the first 5 ingredients are crucial for our beloved fur babys. The brown rice is good but then you have 2 awful grains following it. It’s called ingredient splitting and now the rice out weighs the protein in this food. I’m switching to Stella and Chewy just for a higher quality food for my border collie who is now 2. Just want you to realize this food is good but there are better. There are good grains, and there are meaningless filler grains. But, this food obviously is better then any Purina or Iams by far.

For 23 years all I've ever known was to feed my dogs Pedigree. When I got my Australian Cattle Dog, everything changed. She was MY first puppy. Not my family's, mine. I wanted the best. She was on pedigree puppy but after researching I found Nutro. Let me tell you, this dog food has been a God send. My dog is sooo much more playful, happy, calm, you name it. She's no longer sluggish like, is far from lazy and fat. We can actually go on walks or runs and she can keep up! This is by far the best dog food I've ever given my dog and now she's healthier and more active. I love it! My number 1 favorite dog food!

Since I saved this 7 week old Valentine’s Day born pit lab mix puppy from going to the shelter,she’s had troubles with most foods. Had been feeding a lot of fresh cooked meats to stop her from vomiting most kibbles we tried, but couldn’t keep this up financially. She is almost 3 now and I started trying some healthier stuff. Mostly the same problems. Finally I came across this food and she loved it from the beginning. Now her coat is beautiful black shiny and she’s so healthy, I can barley keep up with her. No more food allergies and getting stronger!

My dog won’t eat anything! I tried to stay away from a lot of wet food, because then she will not touch the dry stuff. She is a 50lb pit/husky and she will only eat once a day. She is also picky about kibble size so usually I will have to buy her tiny kibble. I started feeding her Nutro Ultra and she seems to love it. I think the oval kibble is a nice touch and she’s eating two bowls a day (going on week 2)!

When I rescued a little scraggly 5 month old cocker spaniel I never imagined I'd have so much trouble getting her to eat. The first few months I had her I tried every food, wet & dry added veggies, and chicken in hopes of enticing her. Nothing. Was just underweight for the longest time until I finally got her on nutro. She absolutely loves the treats so the food was kind of a natural step. She's been eating nutro for about 6 months. She's filled out, her coat is gorgeous, she's maintaining the perfect weight and she's such a happy healthy little girl. I love nutro and my dog does too!

Always a hard choice to change your pets food but in this case our decision paid off. Our two labs love this food and leave no kibble behind including during the transition period. The food is a medium size with no distinct smell, I would say fairly neutral. Our dogs can sometimes eat too fast and throw up, so far no signs of digestion being an issue. Their lawn gifts are normal and no gas to speak of. We picked this brand and type for the health benefits and the mix of proteins they get. Our larger lab has lost 4lbs even with giving the same food volume and being 7-8 years old seems frisky and more playful. Our younger one always leaves kibble around her dish since she eats as though it’s her last meal. She devours it all and always checks his dish for leftovers. Her sensitive stomach has improved and she seems to jumps just a bit higher when fetching her ball. Anyways, for us this has been a win and will see if over the next month if we see more improvement. These days of all the brands, choices and hype the market is flooded with options which we find isn’t easy to navigate. Reviews help but in the end we pick based on what’s best for OUR dogs, and this brand was a grand slam.
