When I used to mix wet food with kibble, my dog had the nastiest habit of basically licking off and eating the wet food and spitting/dropping the kibbles on the floor, so much so, that I stopped incorporatingwet food in his diet 2+ years ago. Even with kibble, doesn't matter the brand, he is uncomfortable eating out the bowl, and will only eat if the food is on the floor or the mat. Even then, he will not eat the kibble at designated eating times, and instead he will wake up around 1-2AM and eat the kibble. I decided to give this stew a chance as a food topper, making sure I mix it thoroughly with his kibble, and WOW! He now eats at designated eating times, does not "spit out" the kibble, and best of all, he eats out of a bowl with no fear. My older dog also enjoys this kibble/wet food combination. Now I have a better grasp on their poo schedule, because before it was all over the place with Toby's weird eating habits/schedule. I will keep buying this. I do 1.5 espresso cups worth of nutro kibble and one large eating spoons worth of this stew, and mix it well ensuring each kibble is coated.

I’ve fed this food as a topper on kibble for years but the last few cases (I go through several per month) the chicken food has STUNK so bad and my dogs started
I’ve fed this food as a topper on kibble for years but the last few cases (I go through several per month) the chicken food has STUNK so bad and my dogs started leaving food uneaten in their bowls. I have labs and anyone who has a lab knows that leftover food is not something these dogs do unless something is off. One of my dogs also started having soft, indoor #2’s on occasion. The beef didn’t stink like the chicken, but they stopped eating it too. I canceled my auto ship and switched to a different food.

Wow she eats by herself now

Our little mini schnauzer is only 11 pounds and it has been a constant battle to get her to finish her foods. Since I have been mixing the wet nutro can food with her dry Nutro foods, she now eats by herself without me either playing with the dry food, or sitting with her and hand feeding her to get her to eat enough food. She now goes to her bowl by herself and eats the entire amount. She actually licks the bowl clean. She has gained one pound since I introduced the wet food with her dry food. She is 11 pounds now and did only weighed 10 pounds since she was full grown. She always looked so under nourished. She used to go up to her bowl sniff it and then walk away unless I would sit with her and play and encourage her to eat it. Even then I would be lucky if I could get the entire feeding in her before she walked away and would not eat anymore. The wet food is wonderful, it looks like food we would make for our dogs, it is packed with so much meat. And it smells good too.
