My chickens were a bit cautious eating this. They didn't dive right in like usual but it is different than their normal feed. Food looks nice as far as all the different pieces in it but it has a strong order of like chili powder or something. It does have a lot of ingredients and I tried reading them but it ripped since they're were listed on a tag on the bottom of the bag. I do like how it has probiotics in it but was a bit taken back on what corn gluten is and that it has extracts essential oils instead of dried herbs. I will see how my chickens like it but I would probably stick with the current food they usually get.

I have a large mixed flock that includes bantam Cochins and Silkies. While the mature large fowl breeds are loving this feed, the pellets are too large and the grains not cracked small enough for the small fowl or bantams. Promotional price was great, but I’m sticking with Kalmbach Henhouse Reserve’s smaller pellets for my smaller breeds and “grow out” juveniles. They can’t handle the large grains, which means wasted feed.

I’ll preference I like Nutreana feed, but I am not a fan of the harvest blend. I spend 5 mins sifting out the not digestible stems, which if eaten can cause impacted crops. I know my chickens will eat it. I also do not feed this as a main source, I mix it with my other feed and make a mash, your chickens will probably eat the add ins and leave the pellets and that can cause vitamin deficiencies so beware. All in all I think they need to do a better job sifting their feed. I won’t be buying again.

This is the nicest chicken feed I have ever seen! Nutrena never disappoints, and they out did themselves with their Harvest Blend. You can smell the essential oils and quality grains when you first open the bag. Normally, I have to buy all the extras (like sunflowers and dried herbs) and mix it in by hand. But Nutrena’s Harvest Blend has all that and more! Not to mention just the quality or variety, my chickens LOVE this feed, and instead of wasting some of it, every time I feed them this, they eat every last bit. Highly recommend for any chicken keeper!

My chickens went through 10 bags of this VERY quickly. The reason (I believe) is they wouldn’t eat every part. I’m not sure what it is, but they would throw the feed everywhere, then leave whatever the majority ingredient is on the ground. They Would. Not. Eat. It. I feel it costs too much for them to not eat whatever the majority ingredient is. From now on I will pay extra for a longer lasting/more filling feed. That is why I will give this a 3 star rating, being kind.

I buy this kind of feed on auto ship for my chickens and have never had an issue but this time when I poured the bag into the storage bin, it was missing half the ingredients it usually has. It was missing the soy, sunflower seeds, etc and only had corn and pellets in it. I buy this kind due to the variety in it but I’m disappointed that this pack is somehow missing that.

Will not be buying this again. I thought it would be a nice variety to their pellet and crumble feed but it molded before they ate it. It was in an airtight storage container and the other bag of feed is not molded so I have no idea why this feed grew mold. I have 15 chickens, so they go thru feed pretty quickly. The only time I've had food mold before is during a wet period if the food didn't get stirred at the bottom of the bucket. It will sit in the moisture and mold but this mix should have helped prevent that in theory. Crumble feed tends to clump together so I will add grains and seeds to help prevent it from clumping and molding. However, there was no rain during this period and we had unusually dry weather. I didn't notice mold in their food bucket the first time, but the second time I filled their bucket, the bag had large clumps of molded feed. I tossed the moldy bits and decided to go ahead and empty the rest bag into their bin instead of mixing it with a pellet or crumble feed. I wanted to use the rest of it up and it should have been eaten within 2-3 days. I guess my girls don't like it because now I have moldy clumps in their food bin and feed pieces littered all around their feeder. They always clean their area even, with the crumbles. My girls also rate it zero stars.

The feed looks good to me, but the chickens have littered a huge area around their automatic feeder with this feed as though they are looking for something, they don't like an individual ingredient in the feed, or maybe they just don't like the feed overall. I'll return to buying pellets for now to see how they react to that form of feed. The problem could be the feed, or the chickens. I just don't know!
