Quality Feed - Age Specific would be nice

I was very happy to see that Nutrena was now offering a mini pig feed. I've used other Nutrena products and have always been happy with them. So when I've saw that they had expanded into mini pig feed I was quite happy. The feed choices for mini pigs has typically been quite limited. Most feeds are geared towards market hogs, which promotes the wrong type a health support for a mini pig. Market feeds promote fast growth while sacrificing the long term health of the animal. The mini's typically need more of a healthy weight management. The main issue has been that there are very few suppliers of high quality mini pig feed. So if your local feed store is out of the brand, there are typically very few choices other than market feed. So it's great to see more suppliers out there! So now back to my experience with the Nutrena Micro pig feed. The feed is a pelleted feed. One thing I noticed what that the pellets were less dense than other feeds. I actually think this is a good thing since pigs tend to eat too fast. We also soak our pig feed since our potbelly tends to choke on dry pellets so the extra air pockets that allowed water to soak into the pellets is a plus. I compared the nutritional value of the Nutrena to the brand we had been using. It's fairly comparable. I think I would have liked a little more fat content, but that is more to do with the age of our pig. Our pig seemed to enjoy eating this, but that honestly doesn't say much. He's a pig, lol! He seemed to do well on the feed. However, I think a longer term study would have been better to see ultimately how he was doing on the Nutrena My only wish would be that they would offer age related feeds, particularly one geared towards senior pigs. For senior pigs, I'd like to see smaller pellets, or even a powderized feed. I'd also like to see a focus on joint and digestion support of an elderly pig. In the end, I'd continue to use the Nutrena feed. However, I wouldn't say that it outshines the other micro pig feeds out there, but it's fairly equal in quality. So if the price point was lower, I'd definitely lean towards it

I have a 6 yr old potbelly with constipation issues. I typically add water & veggies to her feed. Keeping all things the same and substituting this new feed. I’ve noticed that compared to her regular feed, she hasn’t had any issues with constipation. The feed absorbs water well and quickly. My pig will throw a fit if her food isn’t ready instantaneously. Will buy again.

Firstly, we have some happy pigs with happy bellies after eating this food. They loved it. The bag was a manageable size and easy to carry. The easy open feature was actually easy to open, which is a huge plus! I always soak feed and I was so pleased with the water absorption of these pellets, both in the time it took for them to soften as well as the consistency of the soaked pellets. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this product.

Nutrena Country Feeds 18% Pellet Mini Pig Feed

Oink oink! As a proud mini pig parent, I'm always on the hunt for the best chow to keep my little snorter happy and healthy. After trying out Nutrena Country Feeds

Oink oink! As a proud mini pig parent, I'm always on the hunt for the best chow to keep my little snorter happy and healthy. After trying out Nutrena Country Feeds 18% Pellet Mini Pig Feed, I can confidently say it's a winner, snout to tail! Pros: Complete Nutrition: This feed packs a punch with 18% protein, essential amino acids, and a balanced blend of vitamins and minerals. My pig's energy levels have soared, and his coat is the envy of all the piglets at the park. Pellets for Perfection: The convenient pellet form is mess-free and easy for my pig to munch on. Plus, it minimizes waste and keeps dust to a minimum (a big plus for both of us!). Palatable Powerhouse: My pig is a picky eater, but he gobbles down these pellets with gusto. The natural flavors and molasses must be doing something right! All-Natural Advantage: No added antibiotics or hormones? That's music to my ears (or should I say, snoots?). I feel good knowing I'm giving my pig the best, most natural nutrition possible. Convenient Size: The 25-lb bag is just the right size for my pig's appetite. It lasts for a good long while and stores easily in the barn. Cons: Pricey Piglet Fare: This feed is on the higher end compared to some other options. However, the quality ingredients and noticeable health benefits make it worth the extra snoutouts in my book. Might be too rich for some: The 18% protein content is great for growing pigs or active piglets, but older or less active pigs might do better with a lower protein option. Final Verdict: For a complete, nutritious, and oh-so-tasty pig feed, Nutrena Country Feeds 18% Pellet Mini Pig Feed is the real deal. My pig is thriving, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Just be prepared to dish out a little extra piggy bank loot for the premium quality. Bonus Tips: Always provide fresh, clean water alongside the feed. Supplement the feed with fresh fruits and vegetables for added vitamins and roughage. Adjust feeding amounts based on your pig's age, activity level, and individual needs. So, if you're looking for a top-notch feed that will have your mini pig squealing for joy, I highly recommend giving Nutrena Country Feeds 18% Pellet Mini Pig Feed a try. Your pig will thank you (with maybe a few happy snorts and a muddy cuddle)!

I have a Kune Kune and a Kune Kune mix, both are about 4 years old. I always mix water with their feed at meals so they feel "fuller." The Nutrena feed absorbed the water quickly and mixed with it well. They both seemed to like the feed really well and didn't experience any GI upset which was great!
