Nutramax Welactin Omega-3 Fish Oil Skin Liquid Softgels Skin & Coat Supplement for Dogs, 120 count

Currently using this for just over two months on my german shepherd mix, and his coat has definitely improved in how soft it is. He was itching constantly (main reason for use) so I believe this is mainly caused by environmental and seasonal allergies. I've put him on a 50% raw and 50% kibble diet, along with this supplement. There has a been a noticeable decrease in itching after 1 to 1 & 1/2 months of use. He is still itching every now and then, so I did add mackerel/sardines for two-ish weeks prior to this review for extra omegas. You could use those instead to give your pet omegas but the supplement is the best bang for your buck.

I can't use it. When Elf was starving, when she came from the shelter, I could just drop it in her dish and she'd eat it. Now that she isn't frantically hungry, she sorts out the large capsule and leaves it. I tried puncturing it and spreading it on her food, but the process leaves me covered with the oil. When I puncture the capsule, the oil squirts around. My veterinarian liked the idea, but it isn't practical for us.

Too large, she wouldn't eat them when buried in peanut butter, or anything else. We now cut them open, and pour them over her food. We will use them all up and will purchase in liquid form. Keep in mind, these gel tabs are large. Our Yellow Lab Layla, requires 4 of these per day, based on her weight(82lbs).

After refusing the oil on his food, I chose this softgel option for Luke's skin and coat. Fortunately, he lets me open his mouth and place the soft gel on the back of his tongue, then massage his throat as he chews/swallows. I can smell the minty taste, so these are Sheltie approved:)
