Denosyl has been shown to be well-tolerated by both dogs and cats with a wide margin of safety. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian before starting a new supplement regiment, as well as a follow-up to check on how well your pet is being on Denosyl.

Is this tablet chewable? If not, how is it recommended to administer it without food?

This is a tablet and should not be split or crumbled. Tablets should be given on an empty stomach for optimal absorption. They may be given at least two hours after a meal or one hour before a meal. It is recommended for pet owners to administer 3-6 cc of water immediately following any tablet administration to speed passage of the tablet into the stomach.

Can the 225mg be cut in half?

Tablets should not be cut or split. Because the tablet must be kept intact to prevent destruction by moisture, administration range is based on the nearest whole-tablet.

I really feel that it helps keep her liver under control. And Chewy is cheaper than my vet,, which is a plus! It needs to be given on an empty stomach. I just wrap it in a piece of a pill pocket just big enough to encapsulate this fairly large pill. I give it to her 2 hours after her breakfast and if I forget she reminds me. Now I have 3 senior dachshunds, 2 with slightly elevated readings and 1 that has liver disease.
