The pill count for the 150 tablets bundle doesn't add up.. It says 150, but then says 3 x 30 boxes (that's only 90 tablets). Is it actually 5 x 30 blister packed tablets in boxes? Or perhaps 2 x 75 loose tablets in a bottle? Something else? Please clarify! Thank you

My dog is 4lbs and doesn’t have teeth… how big are these and is it a chewable or do you have it in liquid form?

Does this come in powder form? My dog is not taking the tablets, yet she needs them.

Can this be crushed and put in a pill pocket, even though it says to take on an empty stomach?

Answer by ChewyAug 27, 2020
While these tablets may be chewed, they do not have to be in order to be effective. This medication should be administered on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before eating. If you must mask with food it is recommended to use no more than one tablespoon.

My dog's liver enzymes were high and taking this brought her numbers down dramatically. She didn't like the taste. So I crushed the pill and mixed it with a small amount of wet cat food. It's hard to give my dog pills because she smells the medication and refuses to take it regardless of what I put the pill in. I felt like I was running out of ways to give her meds. Wet cat food works great! I know the bottle says to give on an empty stomach, but it still brought her numbers down. And it was my vet who used the word "dramatically."

This medication brought her levels down to about 150. It’s better than the levels a year ago that were close to 500. It’s not perfect, but she’s been holding steady at that level for almost a year. I’ll take that and we make the best of it . My Sage is happy, sweet and has never lost her appetite. I just wish she were able to be more active. I miss our hikes.

I got this chewable version of denamarin because my senior boy has a very sensitive stomach. Any solid pills seem to aggravate his stomach and cause him to try to make himself vomit by eating grass. I know, it's bizarre and the vets can't figure it out. He has high ALT levels though so he has to be on something or his liver will eventually fail. He does not like the way these taste which was super frustrating and he's not a picky eater. My vet suggested I create a shell of cream cheese around the pills and that does the trick. He swallows them whole this way but I think they break down quickly enough to not aggravate his tummy. I'm very grateful for this option but I wish the flavor was altered so my dog would just gobble them up. He did bite into the first one and spit it all out and made a yuck face so they must taste pretty awful.

Almost 11 yr old male schnauzer has extremely high triglycerides and is doing awesome on this... after one week starting we saw more energy it was amazing! I only wish our vet would have recommended this years ago. His blood work has been extremely high since he was five years old and they are now just recommending this I don’t know why it took this long. We are hoping to see much better triglycerides blood work in the near future. He has ranged over 1000 before going to a very low-fat dog food but then just 730... hoping for at least half that in December. He seems to be feeling much better and it’s the only change we have made in the last two weeks!

Must not taste "chewable", but super worth it nonetheless

Our dog Dean will eat almost anything that you wouldn't consider tasty - his own poop, paper towel rolls, napkins, and just about anything you drop on the floor... but he won't bite or eat this - he just smells it and looks away, or licks it and then moves away, or finally takes it in his mouth and throws it. But with that said, these things are way way better than the blue pills, because we have, through constantly looking at him sternly, taught him that he's not getting away with it, and now he just swallows it immediately so that he gets petted. So net win for sure, totally worth it, but would've liked them better if they tasted good enough for him to actually eat on his own without the guilt trip.

My Yorkshire Terrier has had to undergo liver shunt surgery. After surgery, her liver numbers were not down in the range we had hoped for or expected. We even began to fear secondary shunting might be taking place. After 2 months on Denamarin, she went in for another test and her numbers were actually on the low end of the scale. I give this product much of the credit for that reduction, as nothing else has changed. If your pet has liver problems or reduced liver capacity at least give this product a try. My girl will never go another day in her life without her Denamarin

We have 2 fox terriers Murphy 13 & McKenzie 15 who take Denamarin. Murphy has no problems taking pills. Put it in a pill pocket and he's good to go. On the other hand McKenzie will not take pills of any kind and gets darn right nasty if you try and force him. Seeing he needs this medication every morning our Vet suggested compounding it into liquid. This can be done with the chewable tablets only. I purchase chewables take them to the compound pharmacy and they turn it into flavored Denamarin liquid.I give it to him thru a syringe and he has no problem with that.

I made a mistake when I ordered Denamarin for my dog. I had to order chewable one, but I ordered tablet. So I called and explained the mistake I made. The person who answer the phone said, she will give me refund and will send me the chewable Denamarin. She also told me I can donate the Denamarin to Shelter. And later she sent me a Product Donation Information Form for Denamarin with my name and address through e-mail. I can bring it to shelter with Denamarin. I think Chewy really love and care about pets.

Unfortunately my GSD was NOT a fan and wouldn't chew these. He is impossible to trick when it comes to medications, I have tried everything from peanut butter to liverwurst, hot dogs, cheese, pill pockets. He laughs at my feeble attempts. Plus side, these crush down very well, then I sprinkle on food, then mix in a tad of coconut oil, his kryptonite. Still searching for acceptable chews. Rocky said no.

HIGH quality supplement

HIGH quality supplement recommended by my veterinarian. I was buying the 90mg tablets but wanted to try the chewable for a chihuahua since she hates taking tablets. I opened the bottle and these things are HUGE, about the size of a quarter and three times as thick. However, use a small knife on a plate and they do cut easily on the score mark exactly in 1/2 and my chi chewed it up like a treat. I will continue to buy these instead of the 90mg tablets. 1/2 is about equal to that dosage with the same ingredients. Photo attached in comparison to a dime.
