Are the soft chews the same ingredients wise as the tablets?

When switching from Phycox Max to Dasaquin MSM, do I need to give two a day to start or can I just go right into once a day?

I started Cosequin a few weeks ago and while I think it’s helped my senior dog’s joints, it has caused daily loose stools. If I switch to this - is it likely the same thing will happen? He’s taken other joint supplements in the past and has never had stomach problems until Cosequin.

How big is the chewable tablet?

I researched very carefully my options for our 10 yr. old yellow lab. This Dasuquin, by Nutramax was the highest recommendation by vets, so thought we'd try it. Within 7 days we saw a little more "pep in her step". I thought maybe I wanted to see that change, but prior to that she appeared depressed, laying around more. She was walked daily and seemed fine, but now we can throw the ball at least twice, her FAVORITE thing besides her pool. I am cautiously optimistic that this will continue, and only get better, so we can have her run more. She has some arthritis, we believe in her back left hip or knee jt. She has some arthritis, we believe in her left front shoulder, and am trying EVERYTHING to avoid NSAID's from the vet, they just rip up their guts, and bad for kidneys and liver, so want to give her good quality of life WITHOUT RX if possible. This seems to be a good start. We give her the 2 of the tabs that she chews, for "LARGE" dogs, after her morning meal, and being a lab, they eat just about anything.

It isn’t often that I go out of my way to review things. I have a Silver Lab that is 8 now. He has limped since he was a puppy in both rear and front legs. We could never take him on long hikes and if he ran for too long or walked for too long, he would limp like crazy. I have a high bed and he couldn’t even stand to put his paws on it. When we would lift him he would yelp. Martin has been on Dasuquin for two years and the difference was quickly noticed. At first he had to take two times a day. I thought I was going to die because of the cost. I will say it is absolutely worth it. My dog has not limped since the first week or two of taking this. Yesterday we went on a huge walk and he was running and jumping. A lot of running! He bounces around and is so happy. He is pain free. We were just having a conversation about “Did you give him his pill” and after the question was answered the words, “You know, two years ago he couldn’t have done what he did yesterday.” I said, I know, I need to write a review because it’s so great! We are going into do the same walk today and it’s a big one. More running. Martin has been taking long walks for the last few weeks and not one problem! I would highly recommend this product. It’s amazing! To the manufacturer, thank you, thank you, thank you. My dog is better than he has ever been!

I first bought the soft chews thinking he would think those are yummier than tablets. WRONG. He wouldn’t touch the chews, even chopped up, unless it was to remove them from his bowl. I was disappointed and chewy kindly allowed me to try the tablets instead. I was shocked that he has no problem eating these with his meal. I was thrilled!! They are large tablets so I just break it into quarters and put on top of his meal no problem.

I have a 2 year old Greyhound/lab mix that was rescued from a hoarding situation. He has severe hip dysplasia and is absolutely obsessed with fetching tennis balls. We always had him on Cosequin. It helped but when he’d really get some ball fetching in we had to give him pain meds because he would be in such horrible pain. So, I decided to try Dasuquin. Wow, wow!! Just 1 week after the switch he seemed happier and began playing fetch almost nonstop (ugh). I have not had to give him any pain meds since and he is not struggling to get up anymore. He used to cry when he would get up. It truly broke our hearts. This med truly has been a miracle and I can’t recommend it enough. I wish it wasn’t so expensive but I’m willing to pay it because it truly works.

Have 3 Great Danes over 5 yrs old, I need to make sure they are still moving like puppies.I couldn’t believe the difference after a month with my boy Maxx on this. He actually started acting like a puppy again.Several people that have giant breed that also swear by this. With my mastiff being almost 2yrs old, I do believe it’s time for him to start also to stay ahead of the game. Nothing but the best for my babies in their health.

This seems to be really helping my 11-year-old American Foxhound mix. When he was around 7 years old, I started him on Cosequin as a preventative measure, and that was working well until around 6 months ago, when he started showing signs of arthritis. He was no longer interested in getting up in the morning, and you could see he was struggling to get around. He was showing less interest in eating any of his meals, as I think it bothered him to stand up. My veterinarian suggested switching him over to Dasuquin. For the first couple of weeks, I didn't see any improvement, but then all of a sudden, he had more enthusiasm to get up in the morning and started eating again and was moving around more without hesitation. To help him stay mobile, I try to give him short walks at the beginning of each day. The only negative is that he does not care for the taste of the Dasuquin, so I break up the tablet into small pieces and hide it in his dry food, which works well. If Nutramax could improve on the taste, it would be perfect.

Good

Our veterinarian recommended I give this supplement to my 9 yr old greyhound following issues of limping and not wanting to put his weight on one leg. What we thought

Our veterinarian recommended I give this supplement to my 9 yr old greyhound following issues of limping and not wanting to put his weight on one leg. What we thought was a “bad leg” issue ended up being diagnosed as arthritis buildup in his spine that affected nerves running down his leg and causing the limp. After two weeks of medication prescribed by the veterinarian, our vet wanted us to continue his care with a natural approach. She recommended this Dasuquin supplement as well as an Omega 3 supplement. And it has been working great! His limp subsided and he is even running! My greyhound did not refuse the large tablets. He happily eats them with peanut butter. I hope this helps others!

My chocolate lab was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia in February. I had been giving my dog a Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement from the store and the vet recommended we give her the Dasuquin. He said he trusted Nutramax products to have the best ingredients and he couldn't say enough good things about it. So I bought it and yes it's expensive but you get what you pay for. It has made a huge difference in her pain management. She can play with her sister and while she is stiff the next day, she is able to recover faster. We have also noticed that we don't have to give her the prescribed meds from the vet, that make her drowsy, as often to get her over her "bad days". We have started giving it to our other lab to keep her joints healthy as well.

My dog hates it, but his hips LOVE this product!

My dog refuses to touch this but then he doesn't like anything that isn't called a dehydrated beef liver. He was a very bad arthritis and hip dysplasia, he's 5 years old and was diagnosed at the age of 2.5! He's a large White American Shepherd and this thing "saved" his life. He can walk again. He actually runs again and jumps (yes I do try to stop him but I see him jumping the fence into my garden when he thinks I am not looking). I swear this product saved him from getting a hip replacement too early. It keeps him going!
