Why is the initial amounts higher?

What is the fat content of these supplements? My dog suffers from bouts of pancreatitis and I have to careful with fats in his diet.

I do not review purchases unless I fully believe in them.. so here goes! I purchased these chews as a last resort for our 115lb, 8 yr old female husky, Kali. For the last year her left hip has begun to bother her.. increasing over the last 6 months. She has always been very active , chasing her 6 yr old brother around the yard.. zoomies in the house, etc. This had begun to decrease and most concerning, she could no longer get into the bed with us at night. It broke our Jerry’s, she would circle the bed whining, but could no longer jump up with her brother and us. We couldn’t lift her bc she would yelp. I decided to search for chews, and called for vet appointment. We got these bc of ratings.. she has to have 3 for starter.. I am out of town, it’s been 10 days.. my husband sends me a text that says,” Guess who’s in bed with me?” First time in probably 6 months, she’s been able to jump Up on bed! We’re on night 3 in a row.. so thinking it is not a fluke!! Highly recommend!!

I received a free bag of this to try several months ago & have been buying it ever since. I have 3 dogs & my 2 very senior dogs take Dasuquin. I asked the vet

I received a free bag of this to try several months ago & have been buying it ever since. I have 3 dogs & my 2 very senior dogs take Dasuquin. I asked the vet who would do best with this & he said to start the adopted boy on it who was 5 at the time. Leo was rescued from a puppy mill where he had been caged & starved his first 18 months of life so clearly his nutritional needs were not being met. He's been on Cosequin more than a year now & he's still very active & very plush! Most often with Shepherds if they remain healthy to old age, mobility becomes the problem so I feel better knowing we are being pro-active in helping him remain active & healthy. Also want to mention this was highly recommended by a friend who has rescued Dachshunds. Having grown up with a doxie who had severe issues with her back as a senior, my friend's recommendation was very appreciated. Leo has no issues with the taste & thinks it's a treat! Highly recommend!

Tried and True product

My "more mature" golden retriever came to us as a senior and she was sluggish and limping on her front leg. After a month on Nutramax's Cosequin, she stopped limping

My "more mature" golden retriever came to us as a senior and she was sluggish and limping on her front leg. After a month on Nutramax's Cosequin, she stopped limping all the time, and would only favor the leg if she first stood up from a long nap. Now that she's been on Cosequin for 18 months, she never limps or favors any leg. She is more active now than when we first got her a year and a half ago. She also used to be afraid to try to climb stairs, but within a year of starting Cosequin she surprised us all by going up the steps in our home! Now, she sleeps in my son's room every night, instead of the downstairs couch. She plays and loves going for walks. She's does not show any signs of pain, arthritis, or limping anymore despite her older age and being a large sized dog - this has helped her so much. We are really happy with this product. It comes in a soft chewy little nugget and we just put one in her food bowl at dinner time and she eats it, no problem. There is a "preloading" period the first few weeks where the dosage is doubled while introducing Cosequin to a pet, but then in tapers down to a lower amount after those first few weeks. We give one chew to Luna every single day and we're very happy and the vet is too.

Life Saver!

We started using this years ago when we adopted a senior dog and it prolonged his life for sure. After a few weeks on it, he was no longer creaking and squeaking

We started using this years ago when we adopted a senior dog and it prolonged his life for sure. After a few weeks on it, he was no longer creaking and squeaking. He was able to enjoy walks/jogs for another three years! So we continued this for our other senior dogs and it helps so much with their mobility.

Life saver for my dog!

My dog was limping , moving slow, almost like she was getting old to soon. We started her on the Consequin. I heard it takes about a month before you see a Difference

My dog was limping , moving slow, almost like she was getting old to soon. We started her on the Consequin. I heard it takes about a month before you see a Difference. It was exactly four weeks and the limp went away she was moving better and had more energy, because the pain was subsiding. I would say it’s a miracle she is 13 now and still loves her walks and playing with her friends at daycare.

I have a 5 year old siberian husky, and a 5.5 year old labrador retriever who are the best of friends. My husky is 50lbs with hip dysplasia he was born with, and suffers from epilepsy due to poor breeding, and my 95lb lab is just perfect, not a single issue. But lately I been hearing his legs, and knees crack every once in a while from sitting too long, and his vet suggested this. Even though they're a bit expensive, I'd still do whatever I can to take care of them, and I've seen a great improvement in both of them, and I absolutely love after the initial 4 to 6 weeks of getting them use to it, it says you're able to lower the dose so it helps with the cost, plus it being a everyday kind of thing, and I haven't seen any negative side effect to date, so I'm very happy with this, the cracks and uncomfortableness from my lab when he gets up and down is decreased, even though they still happen, but seems to really benefit from it so were all happy!!

My 11 year old Laborador Retriever started showing signs that she was having pain in her legs last year. I trip to the vet confirmed that she has arthritis in her legs and fusing in her spine. We started giving her anti inflammatory meds for pain and they seemed to help a little but she was really struggling to stand after laying down for awhile. I decided to try the Cosequin and she seemed to do better but I wasn’t 100% convinced it was due to the Consequin but I kept giving them to her for about eight months. Then I ran out and life was so crazy for a couple weeks I kept forgetting to buy more. I didn’t think it was a big deal. Then I started noticing her struggling much more to get up and her overall activity was less. I ordered a new supply from Chewy and gave her the larger bump dose to get it back into her system and now 3 days later I can already see she’s feeling a little better. I am now convinced these chews are a must for helping ease her pain. I will never run out again. Thank you Nutramax.

I can’t say enough positive things about these supplements. I’ve worked in the human nutraceutical industry for years and I’m a skeptic at times of the claims and benefits of certain products. Cosequin DS has my complete praise! My 11 yr old blue heeler has been extremely active throughout her entire life but as of the last year has been declining in function due to severe osteoarthritis in her hind legs and hips. A trip to the park to play fetch or simply a long walk would be followed by a painful couple days of severe limping and immobility. My heart broke for her. After one week of cosequin DS, (its been 2 months now), I could notice a complete 180!!! We can now enjoy the park, the river, hiking in the hill country and she even has begun engaging and interacting with other dogs which she previously avoided due to her physical pain and limitations. This product has seemingly returned my elderly dog to her youth and given me back my best friend. I endorse it 100%.

I adopted a senior (11yo) pup this year. He was overweight and I could tell he needed some relief in his joints. I did A LOT of research before picking which brand for hip & joint supps. But I decided to go with Cosequin. Within 2 weeks I noticed a huge difference in Zekes demeanor and activity! He was able to run with my other pups and do the stairs much more comfortably. His personality and chipperness has doubled! The senior food and supplements combined really help this old boy feel young again!
