Questions & Answers

Made in USA and are ingredients from USA.

Answer by ChewyFeb 02, 2021
This food is made in the USA. Nulo's meat, poultry, and fish are sourced from North America, with the exception of some of their duck (France), lamb (Australia & New Zealand), and wild-caught fish (regions can vary based on the migratory path of the wild population). Their fruits, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals are sourced in North America as well as regions throughout the world, but are always traced and required to meet strict safety and quality standards. None of Nulo’s ingredients are sourced from China, with the exception of select vitamin supplements that can only be sourced from there.

What size is the kibble. I have small breed dogs with some missing teeth. They would need something pretty small.

Answer by ChewyAug 07, 2020
Three pieces of kibble bunched together are roughly the same size as a penny. Check out the photo below.

My 1 year old corgi loves nulo! We tried different brands before, in which he did good on but not great. Some stool inconsistency, diarrhea and vomit when we tried a super high protein/low carb kibble. But as soon as we transitioned to Nulo Frontrunner, I saw the difference. The added probiotics does the job. This line of kibble has, in my opinion, a great protein/carb ratio, with grains, great animal % protein, and sourcing. Thanks Chewy!! Will rotate color bags (protein) from the same line

Nutritional Excellence

I have studied many hours looking at ingredients of many dog foods trying to find a moderate price while offering good quality food. I have found there are NO perfect recipes in any brand. Nulo Frontrunner beef and lamb is the closest thing to my desired ingredients. I have 2 Cavapoos ages 1, and 2yrs. They are thriving on this recipe. My vet wanted grains and taurine which it has. I also wanted probiotics because past experience with other dogs and a high protein source. We add water to their kibble also. We also have the topper that we add sometimes as an extra treat. Their DNA report says they should be 15lbs. They weigh 17 and 19. Because their is such great ingredients they eat only 2/3C x 2 a day and I thought that was a small amount but they are more than satisfied and are a tad over weight as a result. The balance of the food is way above the average. Overall, very satisfied.

My Dogs Love The Taste, I Love the Formulation (and price).

My pups love this food, and so do I. While they loved the taste of other similar formulations and had nice coats and muscle, I did not like the hard, dry nugget poops my pups eventually produced, or their fairly frequent grass munching. So when NULO popped up on my radar, a grain inclusive, high in animal protein (no peas or potatoes), and highly rated company, I gave it a try. Wow! My dogs really love the taste and since fully making the switch, no grass munching and yes, they have lovely poops. As a bonus to me, NULO is a little less pricey than the previous brands I have used. Highly recommend.

I gave 5 star for the quality of the food because my dogs love it! However, I do want to let you know whomever packed my boxes did terrible this shipment. One box contained 1 bag nulo, poop bags and dog treats. I took out smaller items and then grabbed the bag of Nulo Dog Food 25 lbs. This is when 25 lbs of dog did emptied on my kitchen floor as I lifted out of box. Apparently the bag had a slice on the side facing the bottom of box. So as I picked it up, it exploded everywhere. How did this person not see the bag slice of 6 inches long on the face of bag? Or did they and that’s why it was laying on its face? Packers need to be more careful packing even though they are dog products! Thank you

My adult and very active ACD, Otto was not keen on most dog food brands. This changed when I noticed that he was consistently trying to eat from the bowl of his best doggo friend, Clyde (120lb Rottweiler). Clyde was/is on Nulo and now Otto is too. Happy dog makes happy human.

Our rescue border collie seems to be thriving after switching to Nulo from a popular brand. Her coat is shiny and not shedding as much. It has helped her digestion as stools are firm and less than before so she's obviously processing it better. She'll eat anything (including rocks and pine cones) so had no issues immediately scarfing down the Beef, Barley & Lamb recipe. I may try other flavors but she loves this one.

The ingredients are great and I was really excited to transition my dogs to this food. Unfortunately within 2 days of transitioning this food in slowly with their regular food they both got really bad explosive diarrhea that lasted for days. I ended up just taking the Nulo away and giving them only their regular food. I'm contemplating trying again, this time in even smaller amounts because I know this is a better quality kibble to be feeding my dogs, but I really don't want to go through all that again.

Fantastic option without chicken

Both our dogs were on the same kibble containing chicken. Our super mutt became really itchy and developed flakey skin. None of the topical treatments the vet prescribed helped and our dog HATED being bathed. Removing chicken from her diet helped. This has been a great replacement for them. While she still has slightly dry skin, she doesn't itch like she used to.

My dogs daily meal

I have been feeding my dog Nulo for about 2 years now and she’s very healthy and energetic. I’ve had issues with my past pets gaining weight from their pet foods even with taking into consideration serving sizes and weight. However with Nulo I haven’t had any issues with her weight or health, which makes me more confident that she’s getting the food she needs. :) Alongside that Chewy itself is very helpful in every aspect. Their customer service is very kind and deliveries are very fast.
