This dog food is great and both of my dogs absolutely love it but when you have a 60lb husky/pit mix and a 90lb German shepherd, this food is widely overpriced. It honestly would be more cost effective for me to feed them raw and spend the extra time preparing it. I was feeding them PURINA shredded chicken but I read horrible stories about it so I decided on this brand. The bag is small, like too small and maybe feeds them for 2 weeks so that’s almost $200/month. Crazy.

What we LOVE: The food has removed many of the allergens that cause a dog's gastric distress. We have one who is allergic to peas and another who is allergic to lamb and both are sensitive to grains, and the list goes on ... trying to find a food that both can eat for an extended period of time has been a nightmare until we found this food! What COULD BE BETTER: (1) Pups who are on the smaller side do better with 4lb bags versus 5.5lb bags before the food begins to taste "bad" to them ... by the time, we reach the bottom of the bag, the dogs don't eat well from it despite our keeping it in a well-sealed, dry bin. (2) Every once in a while, there will be a bag that doesn't taste good to a pup from the beginning, and so we have to find ways to coax the dog to eat ... this seems to be a quality-control issue at the manufacturer level. (3) This food is not available in most stores; so, one day we were scrambling to find an alternative when the food didn't arrive as expected. What we DO LIKE: Another food by the same company was sold in stores nearby that served as an adequate substitute that didn't make the dogs ill. OVERALL, we feel that this is a good quality option for complicated cases and are thankful that the company makes the effort to provide adequate nutrition without "shortcuts". We recommend it.

I consider this food to be our miracle food. We have a nearly 16 week old aussie pup that has had loose stools and episodes of outright diarrhea since we got him at nine weeks old. Pup also wasn't growing like he should. Tried pumpkin, tried chicken-free food, nothing helped! Multiple trips to the vet - check for parasites and other things (negative) - no answers. When I asked the new know-it-all vet taking over for our beloved retiring vet about going grain-free, her response was "puppy must have grains!". Her opinion obviously based on a (now) debunked study and statement from the FDA about the *supposed* connection between grain-free dog foods and dilated cardiomyopathy. Desperate for help and about at my wits end with 2-3 middle of the night trips outside for puppy to poo, I did my own research. I found out that grain-free was perfectly fine for our pup. Next I started searching for a high quality grain-free puppy food that doesn't use peas, white potatoes or any chicken whatsoever and found Nulo. By the time we had transitioned pup's food at 50% (old, quality food to Nulo) pup's stools had improved so much I decided to abandon the rest of the food transition and give him straight Nulo. Normal, firm poos - check, eyes bright & coat shiny - check, active, healthy and growing well - also check. I am so thrilled we found Nulo Turkey grain-free!! Our pup is now every bit the healthy, happy Aussie pup he was meant to be. My only regret is taking the vet's word as gospel about something she remembered from a 5 year old FDA report about a flawed study and not doing the research myself sooner. You can do the research yourself. Just be sure you're looking at 2022 (current) updates. Our beautiful pup is now a NULO pup for life. Even though our other dogs - 13 year old german shepherd and 5 year old aussie - are on a very good quality food, I am giving serious consideration to switching them to Nulo too.

Up to now I have tried about every dog food brand available hoping that it would not affect his gastro issues without any luck. My hope was to wean him off the Prescription ProPlan EN and save some money on a similar quality over the counter dry food. Well, I think I may have finally found the one. He is up to 75% Nulo Freestyle Limited+Grain-Free Turkey Recipe per feeding. It very much appears that I will be able to be fully 100% Nulo shortly. I base this on the fact that his stools are still normal and solid, whereas in the past, once I got up to, at max, 1 cup of the new food I was trying out, he would get soft stools. I would recommend anyone having similar issues with their dog try this food. And I am also saving over 53 cents per pound or in my case, $13.25 per 25lb bag of ProPlan at my excellent local veterinarian price.

I was recommended this food by my groomer who is very into pet nutrition and holistic remedies. She likes this particular food because of the ingredient list, and recommended it to my dog who was struggling with yeast in his ears (we recently moved to a very humid climate). The goal is to have more protein in his diet and less carbs because the carbs feed the yeast. We just started using this food 2 weeks ago and so far he loves it - he ate it up the first time I gave it to him and he can be somewhat picky so I was relieved to see he likes it. Apparently too, he'll lose a little weight as this high protein diet will require less portion size and keep him fuller longer, and overall just improve his health.

My dog likes this one so far

The dog food is great, however whoever delivered it did not leave it by the door as stated. They dumped the box at the end of my walkway in a culvert with water

The dog food is great, however whoever delivered it did not leave it by the door as stated. They dumped the box at the end of my walkway in a culvert with water flowing around it, in the rain. Luckily the product was fine because it comes in a plastic bag. The box was so wet that it fell apart when I tried to move it. We have never had this happen before.

One thing that impresses me about Nulo is that they have published information showing the country/countries from which they source each ingredient in their dog foods. Because of this information I am a loyal Nulo customer. My dog has been eating Nulo Turkey & Sweet Potato recipe for more than a year, and I decided to try Nulo's new Limited+ Turkey recipe to see which he would prefer. I put about a tablespoon of each variety side-by-side on a paper towel. He sniffed each choice and then began eating the Limited+ Turkey Recipe, so I am transitioning him to that. Even though my dog is small (16 lbs), I prefer the larger size of the Nulo kibble compared to some other brands. I think the extra chewing slows down his eating and is good for his teeth.

Great food solution for our dog

Our Labrador Retriever has a wide variety of food allergies, leaving us with a limited number of food options. Nulo Freestyle Limited + Turkey Recipe Grain-Free

Our Labrador Retriever has a wide variety of food allergies, leaving us with a limited number of food options. Nulo Freestyle Limited + Turkey Recipe Grain-Free contains two great ingredients he is not allergic to - turkey and chickpea - and none of the ingredients he cannot have (chicken, beef, rice, potato and more) Most other dry dog foods contain at least one of those forbidden items.
