I have been using this food brand basically ever since I got my first kitties 9 years ago. I like the small kibble and she loves eating it, no matter what flavor I get. I started using the indoor one maybe a out 5 years ago. I try to stick with this one as the main one , b/c she is an indoor cat, but goes outside sometimes, so just wanna keep her weight decent. I don't like having fat cats and I think it cruel when ppl let their cats get so big.. Anyhoo, I digress.. I haven't changed food brands in 9 years, I have added different things with her food, such as soft can food or even the Smalls food, but still use this as her main food.

My sister has been fawning over this food for months and months, so I finally decided to give it a try. Given the cost and picky nature of my cats, I got the small 2lb size. I received it promptly but it expired in September 2021, aka 4 months ago. Customer service was quick, and responsive, however, sent out a replacement before I could request a refund, I feared it was going to be the same date- which it was. Frustrating. I normally LOVE chewy but this is a pain point.

Nulo Indoor Dry Cat Food

My cat use to eat Iams for many years from kitten to adult and that’s what my mother raised our cats on so I didn’t know how bad the products really were in most of these cheaper cat foods. Even purina, science diet and royal canine are the most popularized yet the MOST terrible for our animals. After doing lots of research Here is why: Our cats are carnivores and our dogs are omnivores (like us). Dogs can eat grains for a while balanced diet however cats should be eating PROTEIN. Cats literally cannot break down CORN, WHEAT, vegetables are fine for a fibrous diet but our cats should have their first 5 ingredients (which is what the food is mostly consisted of) as protein. Nulos first five ingredients are always protein as well as a lot of other important vitamins included for ultimate health. My indoor cat was pushing 13 pounds and slimmed down to 7.5 pounds in about a year eating Nulo dry that’s the only difference I did was change her dry food and she is so much healthier happier and so am I! Seeing our pets thrive is part of our duty as pet parents! Thank you Nulo for providing great high quality protein products for our animals to THRIVE!

After noticing our 3 cats not being as enthusiastic about their kibble, I searched for a grain free, high protein food. Coincidentally, we received a sample of Nulo kibble. Tigger, Hazel and Ozzie all love their new duck, lentil kibble. After they finished the 1st bag, we discovered that Tigger is diabetic and thankfully the Nulo kibble is high protein, low glycemic and low carb. We are happy that they live their new kibble as well as we being thrilled to have an early diagnosis for Tigger.

Great food, even for the non-athlete

"Meant to run, jump, chase and play. Even compete.Their spirit craves it... Driven by sheer instinct. To challenge their speed. To seek endurance. To gain an edge. To outlast the pack." Somehow, I'm not seeing this in Ed. ;-) But this is great food, that Eddie likes and will eat. Even if Ed isn't a born athlete...

Not as good as it seems

I took my time to write this review. I’ve been feeding this food for several months, I chose it because of its ingredients and high protein, but what I learned is more proteins doesn’t mean healthier food. On october, one of my cats was diagnosed with hypercalcemia, after many studies the vet couldn’t find an organic cause so he recommended me change the food. After 6 months on royal canin gastrointestinal my cat’s calcio levels were back to normal. Apparently, the calcio alteration was related to this food. Also, 3 of my five have gained weight. The small size of the kibbles is a problem too, since sometimes the cats eat them without chewing. So they are going back to royal canin also. I can’t say is a bad food but just wanted to tell my experience with this food since many cat’s parents as I can be tricked by the “premium” slogan thinking this is the best food you can give to your cats, but expensive ingredients not necessary guarantee better, healthier food.

What can I say the ingredients speak for themselves. No other major dry food brands come remotely close to what this brand provides for the price. My cat had recently become picky about kibble and this was an instant hit. I will say it smell strongly like fish/turtle food which isn't pleasant but my cat seems to love it. I'm in love with how small the kibble is as my 11 month old cat is quite small and struggled to crunch on larger kibble. It's easy on his teeth and stomach and no health issues have developed. If you're as concerned about me about what goes into your pets food without stretching your wallet I'd give this a try.

Very good so far

I had been feeding my cat Hills Science Diet Indoor cat food because the shelters always said that was the best and backed by science. And it cost a lot so i thought it must be the best. However my cat gained so much weight on the food. I decided to learn more about what goes into the food (carbs, protein, etc) and decided to go with Nulo which is high in protein and the ingredients were amazing. I didn’t expect changes that quickly and thought it may take maybe a year to notice any change but within the first two weeks of feeding, she has slimmed down and became super active while on Hills she was a couch potato and slept all the time. I am just shocked and it goes to show what you feed them does matter. One thing to note is that the kibble is SUPER small. The smallest I’ve ever seen…but my cat doesn’t mind it.

Great food

My one cat loved the food at first and would eat it dry no problem but then when we got our second cat who is much pickier with her food he stopped really eating

My one cat loved the food at first and would eat it dry no problem but then when we got our second cat who is much pickier with her food he stopped really eating it without wet food in it. I stopped putting wet food and now they don’t seem to like the food at all. When my first cat was eating it alone he was so healthy and his coat was shiny and soft but I unfortunately have to look for a new food that both my cats enjoys so that they will eat and stop throwing tantrums.
