It’s hard to know how to rate this product. I purchased it for our new rescue pup, a year old Lab mix. He did come equipped with plenty of training - knowledge of commands and surprisingly, hunting instincts and experience, so he can be too smart for his own good. He solved this puzzle in literally 60 seconds, stopwatch affirmed. Needless to say, it did not provide nearly as much mental stimulation as I was hoping for. At an average $20 per puzzle game, this could be an expensive test for pet parents to just try out, only to find that it’s not as mentally stimulating as we hoped. I would recommend these puzzles for new puppies, but not those in doubt of their dog’s intelligence or for rescues who may have past puzzle experience there’s no way of confirming prior to purchase. As for the product itself, it is incredibly well-made, sturdy/heavy eco-friendly composite-type material that does not skid or slide on the floor, and it’s a great size, not too small. We have a Shepsky who is too smart for her own good. I used to use these toys at the humane society when I worked there for our high stress dogs, so I know they were great. all the more special to see my own girl working it out. She’s a little too smart for this one, and solved it very quick, but it was her first puzzle toy so we started ‘dumb’. It will be great for our lab/Great Dane who isn’t as brainy, once she outgrows it haha. Only used once, but very little in the way of tooth marks even though she was chewing on it pretty vigorously. Very happy with my purchase. I’ll be back for the brands higher challenge models!
