My vet actually recommended I get my dog's flea/heartworm meds from Chewy since they are less expensive and I can purchase them in smaller quantities. Ordered on line, here a couple of days later after they verified the scrip with my vet. With the regular delivery feature, I don't have to remember to go the vet and get it. Pictured below is who this is for. I'm certain he will be getting some treats delivered from Chewy very soon.

Works great... if you survive the battle

NexGard definitely does the job-fleas and ticks don’t stand a chance. But getting it into my dogs? That’s a whole other war. One dog thinks it’s a gourmet treat and asks for seconds. The others? They’ve formed a resistance movement. The moment they hear the wrapper crinkle, jaws clamp shut like steel traps, eyes narrow, and suddenly I’m in a WWE match with a furry opponent who’s half ninja, half mule. I’ve tried bribery, stealth, interpretive dance-nothing works. It ends with me prying open mouths like a medieval dentist, shoving the chew in like I’m defusing a bomb, and collapsing in defeat while they spit it out just to spite me. Effective product. But I recommend pairing it with a personal trainer, a motivational speaker, and possibly a tranquilizer - for me, not the dogs.

They work well. I wish we didn't need to be vet approved before we can buy these. They are expensive enough without adding a vet visit or consultation added to the price. I don't know what the last owners gave her that she gobbled up but i need to crush these into her food. but they work and that's that. I also wish there would be some sort of incentive to leave a review.

Our two Golden Retrievers LOVED Heartgard but we live in the woods and even though the dogs stay inside our yardfence when outside, ticks were a problem. We switched to Nexgard and basically have to turn it into a powder that we mix with wet food to get them to take the medicine but our tick problem disappeared! I removed one star for this as it is much more complicated than tossing a Heartgard "treat" to them. I would still highly recommend if you need heartworm, flea, and tick prevention with one pill.

Great project but very expensive

This is a great product. Instead of giving several different medicines for specific things it's all included in one tablet. It's kept our beloved lab parasite free! The only complaint that I have is the price. We paid over $200 for six tablets ($38/tablet). This was the discounted price. I wish they could make this medicine more affordable.

The only reason I didn't give it four or five stars is because my dog, who eats everything, refuses to eat this. We have to break them up and gently push the pieces down his throat. He used to love the Heartguard flavor, but this isn't remotely like it. Otherwise, it works well for him although I have read that some dogs may experience seizures so be careful. They need to fix the flavor issues, though, and seizures are scary so they need to rectify that issue as well.

The 'plus' version is off-putting in taste to 2 of my 3 dogs; they loved the taste of regular nexgard and regular heartgard for years, but this 'plus' version I have to coat in 'pill pocket' etc., to get them to eat and still have to coax/encourage etc., to be sure they consume it all. Thinking about going back to regular versions of nexgard and heartgard; we don't have ticks so this add-on is not worth it for us. Will have to compare ingredients but wish they would just improve the taste/palatability!! Anyone else notice a change in this with 'plus?'

I gave this to my Berger in the evening after his meal. I had to break it into small pieces and surround it in peanut butter to get him to eat it. The last few pieces I had to put in the back of his throat like a pill because he hated it. What followed was a night of no sleep as my dog paced, panted like he just ran a race, and scratched and rubbed himself on the carpet with the worst itching I have seen. He rubbed some skin off the sides of his nose and had scabs on the ends of his ears from itching. By morning the itching and panting had started to subside is I waited and watched as the symptoms slowly decreased. All I could think is I poisoned my dog. This is not an acceptable reaction to a preventative supplement.

Does my dog like it ? Nope ! Hates it ! So I break it apart and give him little bits until it's all done ... It's worth it once a month for the protection it gives even if I have to force feed if , only takes a couple minutes and he is good for a full month ! I would rather that than terrible disease! This stuff for us works amazing , No ticks , no fleas no heartworm ! And we hike woods all the time , I have found a couple ticks on him but just take them off , they don't latch on because they hate the taste of the dogs blood with this med and of they do they die quickly and fall off . So , the taste issue is an extremely minor situation to keep a dog healthy for a full month ! It works fantastic!
