Almost Killed My Dog!

My girl had been on Nexgard (regular) since it came out years ago. At the advice of my vet, she was switched to Nexgard Plus in November. She is MDR1+ and the vet

My girl had been on Nexgard (regular) since it came out years ago. At the advice of my vet, she was switched to Nexgard Plus in November. She is MDR1+ and the vet was assured by B&I (makers of Nexgard) that it was perfectly safe and even safer for MDR1+ dogs than regular Nexgard. I gave her 1 dose of the plus and within 2 hours she started trembling, followed by ataxia, lethargy, loss of appetite, etc. She could barely walk or stand and the whole body tremors were enough to shake the entire bed. Over $1,000 later in testing it was determined without a doubt to be caused by the Nexgard Plus. B&I was supposed to reach out to me about it once the vet submitted their report, but they obviously do not care. She's doing much better 2 months later after fluids and detox. I won't be giving them another dime for flea and tick medication, not even for my 6 month old puppy or any future dogs. It's herbal treatment from now on for me!

Option on Nexgard Plus

Having tried one dose of this product obtained from my Vet, I watched for any adverse reactions in my 5 pound nine year old dog. As with his previous experience

Having tried one dose of this product obtained from my Vet, I watched for any adverse reactions in my 5 pound nine year old dog. As with his previous experience with Nexgard flea and tick chew he tolerated it well. How wonderful, one medication to cover all three issues...fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. The supply I received from Chewy is NOT as labeled nor acceptable. Instead of being a soft, meat flavored chew, it is HARD, PINK, and barely able to be crushed even with a postal. The packaging is identical to that which was received from my Vet, the contents were problematic and totally unacceptable. My dog would not accept it even when mixed with wet food, meaning he is at risk for issues when outdoors. Attempting to obtain adequate information from the manufacturer, but it will require climbing the corporate ladder to get an explanation. My opinion of this product as received rates a Negative and that extreme caution would best be exercised in ordering it.

We have tried giving our 7.5 lb Yorkie separate Flea and Heartworm meds. She would eat the Flea pill readily but nothing (cut tiny, wrap in bacon bits, wrap in cheese, etc) would make her ingest the Heartworm chew. She gobbled this combined NexGard Plus right down. We are very happy and relieved!!

I’ve never ordered anything from Chewy and this level of customer service just got a new customer from me. Very happy with Chewy’s kind of customer service.

This product seems to work for my chihuahua. I gave 4 stars because he doesn’t go on trails or dog parks with a lot of potential for fleas and ticks. We walk around the block, go to puppy training and he plays in our turf yard with dogs we know that also take flea medicine.

Wanted to love it.

We have been using Next Guard for flea and tick meds with no issues. I switched it up this month with NG PLUS and our terrier mix was vomiting/diarrhea all evening

We have been using Next Guard for flea and tick meds with no issues. I switched it up this month with NG PLUS and our terrier mix was vomiting/diarrhea all evening and night. I gave it to him late morning, after eating and noticed him gagging about 2 hrs. later. Maybe he had an allergic reaction, but he's never had issues with any meds in the past. Just odd timing. Going back to 2 pills, Heartguard and NexGuard. He also did not love the taste. I had to force him to chew it up.
