I was recently introduced to Chewy by a friend and decided to try switching our four older dogs over to senior food, seeing as the youngest of that group is seven years old. Before the switch, my dogs enjoyed their mealtime well enough, but now that they are eating Nature's Recipe Senior Lamb Meal & Rice Recipe, my dogs go absolutely bonkers the very moment they hear their food being dished! And once we start carrying their bowls to each of our dog's personal dining area, the biggest one of our older dogs, my nine-year-old, 100lbs Moxie, quite literally starts prancing around and jumping up on her hind legs as though she was still just a young pup trying to reach her bowl in our hands! Our dogs have never shown such love and enthusiasm for their food before, so I am willing to bet that they are sincerely enjoying this newer food and would definitely rate it "two paws up!"

I have been purchasing this for the past few years with no issues. Recently the company changed something in the recipe that’s been making my dog throw up. As others as said in the reviews, the kibble size is much smaller and my dog has been refusing it.

Hands down, Chewy beats the chain store pricing! The shipment is fast and customer service is exceptional. I was tired of shopping between 2 stores, and I even order my canned cat food through Chewy. Natures recipe is for the little one, and Blue Buffalo is for the big dog. They have loved it for years. My English Mastiff is going on 9 yrs old, and still going strong!

Absolutely love this food! It was an easy transition and my dog loves every morsel. I have a 10 year old cattle dog who has shown no signs of slowing down. Before swapping foods, for the first time in his life he started to get a little (well-earned) fluff around the midsection and was a little more casual about some things. He was on the same adult food he’d been on for years. I decided to make to swap to a senior food because he was not a pup any more and I figured, after some research, maybe the excess fat and protein was finally getting to his old bones. Lo and behold! he’s back to how he was when he was a young adult. He’s enthused about everything. He’s playful and eager to please. He loves the food! I highly recommend this as a simple and affordable senior option. I also love that the price for senior food is the same price as their adult dog food. If you’re searching for a senior food, please check into this one!

As the old saying goes "try it you'll like it". For some unknown reason, the dog foods have changed brands and changed foods. My Daisy is 10 1/2 and I like to keep her on the same foods and schedule that have gotten her so far. Although she is not a picky eater, I don't like to keep changing when it is not my, or the vet's, choice. Hope I have now found the answer. Receiving order from Chewy was fast and easy. Thank you, I'll be back.

We use to feed our dogs Nature’s Recipe exclusively because our vet endorsed it. When I discovered my old dog food had corn and Soy, I switched to the tried and true food. I followed the introduction directions to a “T”. Unfortunately my poor Heeler suffered a lot. No matter how littler NR I mixed with his old food, it caused terrible tummy troubles. Now I’m stuck with two giant bags of the new food. I’m afraid to donate the food for fear there is something defective with the ingredients. Caveat Emptor ( I hope Chewy can help.)

So I was stunned to see my pickiest eater stick his head in the very first bag and start eating it while I was adding it to their bowls. I was in the process of ordering another bag when I decided to take a peek at the ingredient list again to see what might have piqued his interest... my very bad, I missed this on the first go 'round: Too long to go into detail here, please look up which solvents are APPROVED to use for this method and decide for yourself if you want your furbabies consuming this. This might be accepted and used in other foods, I am just saying I've never seen it listed before anywhere... Additionally, out of +/- 43 ingredients that comprise the list, SALT is in 10th (tenth) place! I am really disgusted with myself for bringing this product into my home and feeding it to my kids. I'll be going back to Gentle Giants. It's affordable, very healthy AND certified Non-GMO. For any of you my age (older than dirt) who watched Batman as a youngster, then you no doubt remember 'Robin' (Burt Ward) who played Batmans' sidekick... he and his wife are the owners of this company and while I hate the design(s) on their bags, it's cute but the most important thing here is the quality of the food. I'll not look for another food to use for 'rotation' purposes any time soon. I used Victor forever (10-ish) years but after they sold part of their business to Duck Dynasty peeps and had literally: Every. Single. Flavor. RECALLED. Multiple times. Until that time, the only recall on record was for vitamin 'D' that might have been in excess and voluntarily recalled it. Still too fresh in my mind to go back to them. Hope this helps people avoid my mistake.

We typically get the easy to digest chicken but it has been out of stock for months now through here so we found this flavor to try, seeing all of the "benefits" it claims on the bag I thought it was too good to be true. The first bag of it we got in July was fine but since then they HAD to of changed the formula or ingredients. The size of the kibble is a lot smaller and it is making my dog very sick. He threw up five times last night and is not feeling himself tonight but hasn't started throwing up YET. Now I need to go see if I can find the easy to digest in stores and buy a smaller bag for my senior dog since this food is making him seriously sick. DO NOT BUY THIS FLAVOR OF THIS BRAND. THEY CHANGED SOMETHING!

My girl, 10 year old, has been sick with several things wrong with her for over a year now and she’s unable to eat just about every kibble out there. She has bad reactions to everything I’ve gotten her. I’ve spent over $1000 trying to find something for her to eat. This is the only thing she can eat which I’m thankful for. Its a high quality food, no preservatives, corn, wheat, meat or chicken by products. Quality food at a reasonable price, especially since it’s been on sale. If there’s only one food that she can eat I’m glad it’s a quality product at a GOOD PRICE.

Used to be great but something changed with the kibble. It's not the lighter oval shapes anymore it's dark brown & roundish. Ever since the change (and no notice on the bag of new formula) my dog barely eats unless he's starving. And now he's getting sick too often for it to not be food related. We just got a kitten who is occasionally eating a piece before I redirect to her kitten food & she's too sleepy after eating one piece. Refunded the latest shipment and won't be buying this again. Not Chewy's fault though, they've been amazing
