We recently adopted a sweet 11 month Australian Shepherd mix rescue dog. For a couple weeks he was really really itchy scratchy and had some skin irritation because of it. He would also need to get up 4-5 times in the night to go to out potty. Not fun. The vet said it appeared to be a food allergy, gave me antibiotics and steroids (neither of which I gave him). I changed his food to Natures Recipe (the food my little dog has always been on) and it ALL cleared up after about a week and a half. No more scratching or irritation, and he’s slept through the night ever since. Love that I can give my 5 lb dog and my 45 lb dog the same food, and they both LOVE it.

We switched to this food from Bil-Jac. Our two pups love it! Bil-Jac was too powdery and gave loose stools for my pittie girl. We went to natures recipe in hopes that my girl wouldn't get any more upset stomach or vomiting and that it would give her firm stool. She maybe would vomit once or twice weekly and now that's she's on this food she hasn't vomited yet in the 2 weeks they've been on it and her stool is more firm. My sensitive girl is now much happier! My other little guy has no issues but sometimes gets picky with flavors and he loves it too!

Another change....different kibble. What gives Nature's Recipe??!

Lighter color is the way this food looks normally....darker version is what was in the new bag received. I had a problem with my last autoship with the Salmon variety

Lighter color is the way this food looks normally....darker version is what was in the new bag received. I had a problem with my last autoship with the Salmon variety of tbis food which actually had sharp debris embedded in the kibble, along with the darker color, smaller shape and harder texture. Note: Chewy still hasn't approved that review after a MONTH, yet when I try to repost, it tells me "I've already submitted a review". So a month later, here we are with differences in the chicken variety. Not seeing any mention of changes in the site or the packaging, yet there is clearly a difference....Againnnnn. Now happening to a different variety. So incredibly frustrating, guys.

My dog is normally very picky, and he has a sensitive stomach and needs grain free. We've found success with Purina Grain Free varieties, but we've always had to mix them with wet food or homemade chicken broth to get him to eat them. Recently, I received a very expensive name brand dog food, which he liked about as much as the Purina (I won't list the name here), but, for some reason, he began to refuse to eat it. He would go all day without touching his food. Today, i tried this Nature's Recipe for the first time. I added wet food, as usual, but he gobbled it up so fast I wondered if he would eat it without anything else mixed it. I started with a few kibbles, and he ate them right away and looked up at me. I added a palm-full more, no wet food mixed in, and he gobbled those, too! I have never seen him do this, so I think he really loves the flavor, and the kibbles are small enough for him to chew without any problems (he struggles with bigger kibbles). Putting this food on auto ship!

I adopted a rescue dog who had diarrhea nonstop for the first 5 months with me. We tried just about every food out there to help her. She does best on this Natures Recipe. I put out two different foods and this is the one she chose. Same is true for my other dogs. They all like this best!

We have 2 miniature australian shepherds, and upon adopting these puppies our vet recommended a grain-free diet. We have tried out several different grain free brands, kibble sizes and flavors, and this one is undefeated. Natures Recipe tends to be their favorite brand of food, but the Sweet potato/pumpkin/chicken flavor is their favorite. We are planning on purchasing a slow-eating bowl because they just blow right through it as soon as we serve them. We also try to pay attention to their health and well-being as much as possible, and for us that includes checking their “deposits”. Their “leavings” are always a good color and consistency while on this kibble, and we haven’t noticed any signs of upset stomach or indigestion either. All around 5/5 stars for me.

I switched my 35-lb doodle to Nature's Recipe two years ago and am very happy that she continues to like the taste and that she is doing so well (health-wise) on this kibble. I don't know that I can definitely say that it has helped her to maintain her weight because she is the type of dog that doesn't eat much - I give her 1.5 scoops of kibble each day with treats of raw veggies and plain yogurt throughout the day and she has maintained her normal weight at 34/35lbs since she's been eating Nature's Recipe. The biggest improvement I noticed once taking her off of Hill's Science Diet and feeding her Nature's Recipe is that her ears are no longer yeasty/getting inflamed and her digestion and elimination are now normal/healthy. These were chronic problems when she was eating other kibble. I have been mixing this version of Nature's Recipe with Nature's Recipe Chicken, Barley & Brown Rice Recipe Dry Dog Food because I wanted to ensure that she was getting enough protein and a variety of foods/nutrients. So far, so good!

My bro fed his dog pizza. Getting her into Dog food has been very hard. She likes the cat's food. I purchased this Medium dog size kibble and a smaller size kibble , she likes both. As for me I follow Dr Marty and holistic food mfg but can't afford their brands so I'm growing some veggies she likes, then adding a nice dry food like this. Terrible to say, I'm not a dog person, but would not leave her to the kill shelter aftery brother died. In face I heard the words NO come out of my mouth when the detective asked if she should go Honestly she lives like a cat. Not out often but plenty of activity inside with the cats. She gets what she likes.

Since I got my poodle pup (now 1 1/2 yrs old) he has had periodic bouts of very loose stools. At first he had giardia, which was treated, and then the cause was unclear. After several monthly visits to the vet, I treated him with chicken and rice and OTC medications until he recovered. When I switched to grain-free (Nature's Recipe) I saw a big difference in his stools. They were bulkier, easier and formed but soft. He has done very well on Nature's Recipe Chicken. As comments show, this may not be the solution for all dogs, but it definitely is worth a try. Seems to taste good, too!

Smaller Kibble

Griffin is 13.5 and I noticed that the smaller kibble was easier for him to eat. He loves to eat, switched to chicken this time. He’s happy so I’m happy
