Look, I've never reviewed a dog food before and my 4 year old frenchie has tried many. He has a long history of digestive issues and every food/novel protein we try always gives him mushy poops. Our vet was starting to push the idea of prescription diets but said let's try a few more options before going that route. Anyway, long story short, this does the trick. He finally has normal turds that don't leave a mess in my yard. Halleloo! And he absolutely loves the taste, goes crazy for it at meal time. I also appreciate that it isn't mixed with chicken or beef because those are common triggers for dogs with sensitivities. Very happy with the results and will continue to buy.

Finally a Food that Works

Finally-a food that works!!!!! Puccini is our 6.5 month old Standard Poodle puppy, for whom we have been trying since the day we got him, to find a food that doesn't cause him to have soft stool and itchy skin and feet. After creating a spreadsheet of the ingredients in all the various foods (between 15-20 foods)he had tried, to figure out what he was sensitive to, I discovered egg, rice, flaxseed, and oats as common denominators. Once I took him off rice, the volume of his stools decreased significantly, but they were still soft. I spent hours upon hours scouring dog food labels. I discovered that even the prepared raw food I was trying had flaxseed oil added to it! I came across Nature's Logic on Chewy. I held my breath once again as I clicked on the ingredient list, expecting once again to see egg or flaxseed listed somewhere on yet another "natural" pet food label. I was so impressed when I read that label (it was for the pork formula)! It was finally a grain inclusive, natural food that had none of Puccini's known problematic ingredients. I ordered the 13# bag of the pork formula (a meat protein he had not tried before). When it came, I offered a couple kibbles and he excitedly snarfed them down! The next day, although I know this is not the way recommended, I did a cold turkey switch to Nature's Logic pork kibble. His stool had been like cow patties with the previous kibble, so I figured a cold turkey switch couldn't hurt him anymore. Later that day he had his first actual solid stool! Hallelujah!! I am sooo pleased, Puccini's happy, he loves his food! My husband is happy cost-wise because we were spending so much money to try to find a food that worked for our sensitive pup! He's still on his first bag of the pork formula, but am planning to rotate between several Nature's Logic formulas for variety. The only formula he couldn't have would be the rabbit-since there is egg in that formula. I truly love the fact that I can feel good about the ingredients that are going into my pup, and that they are working for him so well. I have only one suggestion for future development: I would love it if they had the option of a larger kibble size for larger dogs. Kind Regards, Leah and Puccini

After testing different foods for my Dalmatian, I tested this one out. She had minimal gas now, where before she was gassing my family out of the house. Her coat is always shiny and healthy. She gets minimal cysts where before she was getting endless pimply cysts. Also, she’s never had a kidney stone, so I would say this is a Dalmatian safe option. She’s been on this food for 5 or 6 years. We won’t switch her unless we have to for medical needs.

I'm a huge fan of Nature's Logic- I've been feeding it to my German Shepherd for 3.5 years now. He's been on the lamb meal feast for most of his life, but I figured it was time to try something new. He's tried the beef before and it didn't sit well with his stomach so I was a little hesitant to try the pork. I was in for a big surprise to find that not only did he love it, but it didn't cause any tummy problems! That's a win in my book as he's usually very picky and sometimes the smallest change could cause a major tummy problem for him. I plan on ordering the pork every few months for him just to give him more of a variety!

My Doodle had issues with loose stool and is a picky eater. I tried a lot of premium brands to counter the loose stools and picky eating issues. I wish I would have found this brand first. Many of the premium brands I had tried ended up on the list of dog that is suspected of causing heart issues in dogs. Nature’s Logic is not on that list and in fact had predicted that many grain free formulas posed a potential heath problem to dogs.

My American Bully mix Taquito has severe food allergies and sensitivities. He can't eat most hydrolyzed protein sources since they're still poultry (sometimes, but not always). We dealt with horrible gas, loose stools, even one episode of HGE landing him in the emergency vet on Mother's Day two years ago. We tried EVERYTHING, and took a chance on a protein source that he had never been exposed to, after putting him on an expensive prescription diet that lasted us only 3 weeks, feeding a 55 lb dog from a 20 lb bag (unfortunately the biggest bag that is offered). This food is literally the first food that has made him look like he's not malnourished. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

I was trying to find a kibble that had no chicken or chicken by-products. Not even chicken fat. No sweet potatoes. They make her smell. I have always liked Nature's Logic products. Our last Golden ate this exact food and had no problems. Between 2016 and now they must have changed the formula. Finlee loves this food, but her poops are so dry they literally crumble apart when I pick them up. Like powder. We add sooooo much warm water to her food and let it sit. She drinks a lot of water. She gets salmon oil on top of her dinner. There is no reason her poop should be this dry from her food. Needless to say, I am disappointed I need to find another food. And I have two huge bags I have to use up because I was on vacation and forgot to stop the auto ship.

Made my dog sick from too much calcium

I fed my beloved French bulldog this food for about a year and a half, thinking it was one of the best dry foods I could give her. Her poops were always dry, white

I fed my beloved French bulldog this food for about a year and a half, thinking it was one of the best dry foods I could give her. Her poops were always dry, white and crumbly after they dried, but I never thought much of it since she felt and looked so good. That all changed after the last bag I opened though. She quickly developed severe stomach pain, which was bad enough that I rushed her to the vet. They discovered a "white, grainy substance all throughout her intestines" on the X-ray and thought maybe she had eaten sand or something like that. She had no access to anything like that, so the vet had me put her on a bland diet until her system calmed down. It's been a month now, and every time I start adding this food back into her rice and boiled chicken, she gets sick again. I started digging around through the reviews and found that quite a few other people have had similar experiences, and it turns out that Nature's Logic may have entirely too much calcium in their dry foods, which was the most probable cause for the calcified material in her intestines. Chewy has the very best customer service (as many of you know) and they kindly refunded me for the extra bags I had remaining and I will be donating those to the local animal shelter. I'm getting a completely new brand of food to try, and I have a feeling that she will be just fine once she's on a different kind of food with less calcium. I trusted this brand and am very shocked and disappointed that this happened.

First, this is a quality dry food. Next, it is almost impossible to find a commercial dog food that does not contain chicken. My dog is allergic to chicken, beef and salmon, mostly chicken. He likes the dry pork Nature’s Logic and I can rest easy that I am not making him more sensitive.

We recently transitioned our dogs to Nature's Logic due to the "grain free" scare. I researched which food to switch to extremely thoroughly. Nature's Logic seemed like the best option. I am pleased with the ingredients (no peas, lentils, potatoes) and our dogs love the taste. They gobble it right up! Another perk is the consistency of their bowels: our pitty had very mushy poops prior to our switch to Nature's Logic and now I notice they are much more solid. I recommended this food to my sister in law for her dog, and I recommend it to you too!
