Itching has almost stopped!

I wish I could shout it from the roof tops that this is the best supplement we have tried for our dog George! We have been battling his severe itching for the past 6 months and have tried everything! Supplements, daily Benadryl, changing his food, giving his baths with medicated shampoo! Finally with this supplement which he has been taking for about 2 weeks now his itching has significantly slowed down almost stopped! He is so much more at peace as you can see in the picture and more playful again! I’m convinced it was a gut problem that is now healing! His skin sores have healed completely! Thank you for making such a great product!

Food quality and safety vomiting concern

So the first thing I will say is chewy was wonderful as always. They immediately helped me with my order and ultimately refunded. Our sweet old English bulldog

So the first thing I will say is chewy was wonderful as always. They immediately helped me with my order and ultimately refunded. Our sweet old English bulldog was on this food for 10 years before she passed away. Never had any problems and she lived along healthy life. When we decided to add to our family, addition of Bert our Bernese mountain dog and George are English bulldog, we decided to stick with natural balance, salmon and sweet potato formula! The order that we received in the December timeframe included two bags of food and we were asking ourselves if it was our imagination or if it smelled different than before. No problems with our dogs eating it but it looked a little different as well. Darker. I thought maybe they just changed the formula. Fast-forward to the last two bags that came in our Auto shipment. We opened the first one, and there were huge clumps of food stuck together. It didn’t smell different and the color looked back to normal so we went ahead and fed both of our dogs breakfast out of the new bag. Immediately they both threw up. Both of them!!!! We open the second bag of food, and it was all clump together as well. Chewy was wonderful and refunded the order. If one of our dogs would’ve gotten sick, I would’ve probably not thought much of it. But both of them within minutes is very suspicious. I will never trust this food again. Switched to pro plan salmon and rice. Please watch your dogs if you have this food!

Great for my GSD who's allergic to EVERYTHING!!!

FINALLY! A food I can feed my 2 yr old, 110 lb. German Shepherd Dog who is allergic to EVERYTHING! I've always had GSD's so I'm aware of their sensitivity to foods

FINALLY! A food I can feed my 2 yr old, 110 lb. German Shepherd Dog who is allergic to EVERYTHING! I've always had GSD's so I'm aware of their sensitivity to foods and potential for GI upset. However, my boy set the bar for food allergies! Chicken, chicken-meal, corn, grains, gluten, soy, eggs, dairy, PEAS (SERIOUSLY, PEAS!), and pea-protein! He's also unable to easily digest certain proteins such as beef and bison. I thought I was never going to find anything to feed him without going to a raw diet! This is the ONLY food I have found that does NOT contain any of the above ingredients including peas or pea-protein AND it comes in Salmon & Sweet Potato, i.e. digestible! He has been on this food for a month now and, so far, his stool is FINALLY firm, no more itching, hair loss, antibiotics, steroids, or vet trips!!! Best of all, he LUVS this food! His coat is gorgeous, his weight is perfect, and he drools in anticipation of EVERY feeding. You can set your alarm clock for 6am feeding (even on the weekends!) I highly recommend this LID food for anyone whose pet needs a restricted diet without losing nutritional value or requiring a veterinarian's prescription!

Problem doggie

I would recommend this food to anyone that has a allergy related problem child (dog) in the family. My AmStaff has skin issues as many pittys do and it has helped

I would recommend this food to anyone that has a allergy related problem child (dog) in the family. My AmStaff has skin issues as many pittys do and it has helped immensely to eliminate grain from his diet. The food is costly but when you take into consideration the cost of alternative medication to help control the allergy it's worth it in the long run. After years of treatment and extremely high veterinarian bills I've finally got Cooper's skin/ear infections under control. He is on allergy shots but in combination of grain free food he is in the best shape he has ever been in. I highly recommend Natural balance grain free food. I also recommend Mr. Chewy, they have the greatest service and friendly employees. I work at the Cornell Veterinary Hospital and get a discount on dog food which is a pain to get and the cost is the same with my discount as it is from Mr. Chewy but I have the convenience of having it delivered right to my door, often the next day, Amazing! Great job folks and thanks so much for all you do for our furry family members. thanks

An Instant Success!

For the last year or so my 9 year old black lab has been having stomach issues. She would regularly have bouts of vomiting and uncontrollable diarrhea. I took her to the vet so many times to try to correct this spending about $1000 dollars. With some medication her diarrhea finally seemed to calm down a bit but she was still vomiting a few times a week and having very soft stools. I don't know why the vet never suggested this but after a lot of googling and research I suspected that my dog had a chicken allergy. She was still vomiting and throwing up while eating a special diet for sensitive tummies that had chicken in it. So I decided to go ahead and try switching her to this limited ingredient food that does not have chicken in it. It only took one day for her poops to become healthy and solid again and she hasn't vomited since I've been feeding her this. She seems like she is so much happier and feels so much better. I could cry because I am so happy.

Natural Balance worked for our dogs.

We are working with an allergist for our two dogs. They get weekly allergy shots and one of them is also on additional medication. They were on Ultamino for many months and earlier attempts to change to a less restrictive diet hadn't worked. Finally they were switched to Royal Canin Veterinary Diet PW, and after one bag of that we were instructed to switch to Natural Balance LID Sweet Potato and Fish and thankfully it agrees with them so they are finally off of prescription food. My last dog had less severe allergies and a fish dog food worked for him too. This dog food also has another version that states it has small bites so I was concerned that this bag for our dogs, who are both 17 pounds and are father and son Chihuahua mix, might have kibble that's too big. The kibble size is fine for them so if that's a concern this will give you some kind of gauge to work with. It's a teensy-tiny bit wider than the Ultamino kibble (in case you have used that) but they are flatter, and about the size of a dime.

Bad Quality Food

I do not recommend this food anymore. I have a German Shepherd with oat/grain allergies. She has been on this food for about 2 years with no issues until recent. I have had problems with quality control on this food. Got a batch that looked burned and clumpy and also little white bone shards in it. The current bag I opened, she threw up after eating it each time. So I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what I changed or what she got into....but I am almost certain it is the food. After being on a bland chicken/rice and beef broth diet, I introduced a bit of this kibble back into her diet. About an hour later, she threw up again. The quality control of this food is no longer there, the quality of their ingredients are poor. I can no longer feed this food to my dog. It will be going in the trash. I've loved this food for years but I can no longer trust it with my pup. Hoping to help other owners/dogs stay away from this food and do your research on other great brands that are out there. Don't buy this food anymore.

Helped with my dog's sensitive stomach.

Our puppy had been having allergic reactions to the previous dog food that we had given her. Chicken, beef, lamb, it all made her sick. We had to go to the vet regularly because her foods caused infections and required surgical procedures. This was our last attempt at a food before the doctor was going to put her on specialized gastrointestinal food which is much more expensive. Our puppy has been on this diet for 2 months now and has not had any further problems. Plus, she LOVES it! A win win for everyone

Shiny, healthy, thick & glossy coats appear! I had a pure bred Bichon for years that had so many allergies and hot spots we were at the vet weekly for shots. Had him on a salmon and sweet potato diet that helped some (another brand quite sometime ago). I loved him but felt so helpless when he was at his worst. When I decided I was ready for another dog I started out by researching the Bichon breed and found that a mix might solve some of the skin issues. So I purchased two "Teddy Bears" from the same litter that are four years old. Never had a problem with their skin or coats. This summer we added another one to the mix... About two months ago she decided to start eating her siblings food and immediately developed a hot spot. Took her in and had it diagnosed. They were on a grain free diet so I switched to that brands fish and sweet potato. Another hot spot. Tried a different one none of them would eat it. Switched to this one and they all three inhaled it. You would have thought they hadn't eaten for weeks. So far no hot spots and her itching is minimal. Thank you Dick Van Patten!

Too fiber-rich

If your dog didn’t have issues with pooping too much, this dog food has you covered. Even with the same volume of food that he used to eat of the “duck and potato”

If your dog didn’t have issues with pooping too much, this dog food has you covered. Even with the same volume of food that he used to eat of the “duck and potato” formula, my dog has gone from pooping just once a day to three times if not four times. This isn’t even a joke anymore I have no idea where all this poop is coming from it’s like what it was before just 4 times more. He’s a good, well-trained, housebroken dog too, and I’ve come home to him pooping in the house since he can’t hold it with how much he needs to go all of the time. So very odd, will be switching back to duck and potato, hopefully that formula hasn’t changed.
