Works for weight loss

My dog has been on this for nearly 8 months now, and she’s lost 7 lb, and that’s with less exercise and still getting some treats. So the food absolutely works!

My dog has been on this for nearly 8 months now, and she’s lost 7 lb, and that’s with less exercise and still getting some treats. So the food absolutely works! The kibble is a good size for large dogs too. However she’s always had problems with chicken. I am glad the food worked for her weight loss, but her skin has been breaking out in itchy patches since switching to this. I wish they offered a chicken-free version. Unfortunately I’ll have to switch her, but I’ll still recommend this to others.

My name is Rosemary...woof! I'm a 24 lb rescue dog who has struggled with vomitting and diarrhea since September 2017. My owners tried everything to get me better, numerous fasts and diets...finally in December I was so sick, on my 3rd visit to my vet, I was finally diagnosed with pancreatitis. I was placed on antibiotics and eventually given that prescription diet (which did work for me BUT TOO EXPENSIVE). My owner asked my vet for an affordable alternative and he recommended this food!! Thank goodness!!! While my owner does feel it's expensive and wishes the price was even a few dollars cheaper, it is a low fat food that meets my needs and I haven't pooped so good (or had so many normal stools) EVER in my life! I love eating this food and I am a happy dog once again! If you were recommended a low fat diet for your pup or dog I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this food! Thank you Natural Balance!

I have a rescue bait dog from a dig fighting. Neko!!! Aka Fat round and low to the ground.Neko is Pitbull and English bulldog mix. He is allergic to so many things and it's hard to find a diet food that doesn't break him have allergic reactions. This Fat Dog food has been a miracle food for him. He loves the taste and since he's been on it he has lost 10lbs. I did have to get a trap or slow feed bowl for him because he eats so fast it upset his digestion. So if you have a dog that needs to loose weight I would highly recommend this food. 100% best food for my Fur baby Neko . Who by the way is by vet's opinion is between 12 and 14 years old. Thanks for having this food available. I'm one happy Pitbull Mama.

My Scottie popped up to 30 pounds and my vet wanted to get her down to 24/25 pounds because she had a luxating patela on her right hind leg. She usually gets 1/2 cup of kibble in the morning and 1/2 cup at 5:15 with a couple tablespoons of no salt added canned veggies. The first bag was mixed with her regular food, she liked it and lost weight but put some back on in winter. Last summer within four months she blew out both her ACLs. Two surgeries and $10,000 later I put her back on Fat Dog w/veggies at night and she went from 30 to 27 pounds and everyone is happy. Just FYI, she blew the ACLs chasing the same darn cat!!!!! She is eight years old and very active. She likes watermelon, honeydew mellon, and raw carrots. Nice treats! Hates apples.

A year ago after my gorgeous Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Oliver was finally altered; he gained far too much weight far too quickly. Fat Corgi syndrome!!!! Help!!!! Oliver is a very active dog naturally. He did slow down a bit after his alteration and also became very interested in absolutely anything he could get his chompers on; its as though he is always on a mission to find food...any food. Oliver lost 10lbs easily on Fat Dogs over the course of just a few months AND I mix in a few oz of fresh ground beef, turkey, chicken etc and a tad of olive oil and he still lost weight! He loves dinner time and licks out every single drop from his bowl. He looks amazing at age 10. Gorgeous coat and great energy level.

It's a little strange that my dog absolutely loves this food and it's the "diet" version of Natural Balance. I had been feeding him the sweet potato / fish formula and he likes that too, but this he goes crazy for. He actually chewed through the chewy.com box and through the dog food bag to get to it while I ran to the store really quick...........and that was while he had an abscessed tooth!!! Also, he seems to poop much less on this food than he did on the other. He could literally poop 4-5 times on a walk around the neighborhood on the regular food. On this he poops maybe twice. So, I'm not really sure what that means, but I'm enjoying less clean-up on our walks!!!
